May Sleevers, how's it hanging?
For me it's hanging close to the air conditioning... it is SO hot here! This NY girl is preferential to the spring/autumn/winter seasons and summer usually is not my friend. But I'm going to get over it today and I'm about to leave in five minutes to go for a walk with a friend who's also off from work today. She promises hills AND shade in her neighborhood, and I've frozen my bottle of Crystal Lite so I'm all set. Plus, she has a pool that we can dunk into afterward as a reward for exercising on this steamy day.
I'm excited to see her-- she works in my hospital as well and came for a quick visit my first night post-op and saw the difference in my face from my 9lbs loss pre-op... I can't wait for her to see my 20lbs loss post op!
Also, I went to a post-op support group in my area last night which really feels good. It's nice to be able to talk about challenges and victories and learn new coping strategies with people going through similar issues.
How are all of you guys doing today?

Not a may sleever but oh how I remember those hot humid NY summers...yuck........(originally from Corning)......now I suffer through the hot dry CA summers and don't find them too much better other than not feeling sticky all the time.
Good for you with the walking and in the shade with hills.......those are the best..........my mother lives where there are many hills, in fact it is hard to find a road with out a hill.......keep up the great work and looking forward to watching the progress you make.

Doing well... down 14lbs since surgery on 5/23, might be able to drop more if I can up my water intake. I'm getting the shakes in ok, but the water seems to fall by the wayside.
My only complaints are the incisions are still sore and it doesn't take much to tire me out, otherwise, no issues. I get to start mushies tomorrow, so I'm super silly psyched about that and welcome any suggestions for things that mushify well :-).

5/10 here doing OK I guess. Losing is slow but I am hoping it's just cuz i dropped 17lbs on the preop liquid diet. I changed my ticket to reflect onlyl postop weight loss.
I challenge myself to get all protein in without a shake but I usually have at least one. I try to stay over 70.
My water is ok I mix benefiber in with one drink a day. I don't seem to have any issues at all with any food! No pain ever. If it weren't for that full feeling I had once or twice and my scars I would swear the dr played a joke on me lol
Please send any losing vibes my way! Ohoh I lost 6 inches on my waist and 6 on the hips and 5chest crazy

5/11 I'm doing pretty good but still having some serious mood issues! I go back to work tonight I hope the hospital doesn't try to hurt me! My biggest issue is I'm dying to be off my purée stage and on to soft regular foods that happens for me in 6 more days. My other problem is a stall that's been hanging on for a few days I lost 10lbs on the 2 week preop diet and since surgery 19 more for a total of 29lbs! I should be thrilled that I'm approaching onederland but in my previous experiences I get to say the 190-200 range and then gain it all back and then some! I just hope the scale doesn't stop there. As far as water and protein I'm getting in usually 60 to 70 on each and I was working out 3 times a week I kindda got lazy this week and have only walked once but I will be running tonight at work for sure!!! I'll get back on my treadmill maybe today before work and again Saturday to get my 3 in. Oooo yeah and talk about heat it reached 100 down here last week and it stays at 90 or higher so I'll be doing as much as I can in the gym or at home on the treadmill!!!!!
Hi everybody!
I'm doing really well. I am SICK of liquids, just sooooo sick of liquids. I have not "eaten" in month.
I have a nurse and nut appt tomorrow, then purees Sat. Who would have thought I'd be dreaming about 2T refried beans with sour cream and taco sauce. I think that's the first thing I'm going to eat- for breakfast Sat AM.
But other than wanting "food" which has been hard, everything has been good. I'm able to get in a half hour walk most days, get in my fluids and milk/protein. The weight is coming off- 13 preop and just about 20 post. I can notice the 30 lbs in my face and clothes. Feels great!
