My Delightful Doctor's Appointment & SV!!!

Let me say this......ALL DOCTORS are DIFFERENT!! My surgeon doesn't have me doing HALF the stuff many of your doctors have you doing, and I was SURPRISED when he told me what he wanted me to do, etc.....

FIRST: I weighed, and I was 339.7....which means that I am 37 pounds down from my HIGHEST weight, and 27 down since my SURGERY! I was stoked!!! My 10 day, 1st Week Appt. and I can only thank GOD!!!

SECOND: I was told that my doctor doesn't require PROTEIN shakes! WOW!!! I jumped the gun and ordered some stuff from UNJURY, but his nurse said that this is just something he recently started! So, again, another BIG SURPRISE!!

THIRD: I was put on FULL LIQUIDS today!! YIPPPPE!! LOL. However, I will be on them until my next appointment which is in the middle of July.......so that sucks a little!! LOL

FOURTH: After being told that I can eat soup, I went to a restaurant and got some potato soup. Needless to say, I ate 3 spoonfuls and COULDN'T EAT another bite! WOWSER!!!! NEVER IN THE WORLD WOULD I HAVE THOUGHT THAT!!!

All in all, I had a good doctor's visit. I made sure that I told my surgeon that I haven't been able to get in the liquids that I am supposed to, and he simply urged me to do so! He couldn't stress how important that drinking water is.....I understand COMPLETELY, I just can't do it....just yet! I'm TRYING HARD though. I have so far to go, and I'm striving hard to reach my goals. My first mini-goal is to lose 50 pounds and I'm well on my way! Next goal.....100 lbs. lost!!!! Wish me well!

That is great girl!  You are doing so well... I'm totally jealous that you've lost more than me and we are only one week apart.

I'm curious tho... was there anything that the Doc said to replace the protein with?  I've never heard of that and I would think that fatigue, muscle loss, hair loss, etc... would be an issue.

You shouldn't be JEALOUS at all! You're doing great! You have to look at the fact that I have WAY more weight to lose than you do. You're considered a "lightweight"....

He has me on B-12 shot. Also, he has given me a list of other foods that I can use right now to supplement the shakes. Since I DID buy the sample packages of the PROTEIN shakes, I WILL be using them!! LOL. I don't have money to waste! He took the shakes out because he saw too many people becoming too dependent on them and used them as their only way of getting PROTEIN in and he said he'd much rather you EAT your PROTEIN than DRINK it. I don't really understand, but that's just HIS way. I may still do one for breakfast.

Jeez 27 pounds in 10 days?! Awesome. You made me want to run to the scale. But I will weigh myself for the first time tomorrow morning as planned.

You are doing great!  I'm a believer in doing as much as possible during the first few months when you are the most restricted. If weight loss slows down after six months, I won't care as long as I did really well at the start.

Keep it up.

Yeah, I have heard so many people say that you want to maximize your weight loss in the first 6 months, so I'm definitely trying my best to do so! I walk twice a day....I walk about a mile in the morning, and a half of a mile in the evening. I plan to kick it up as I begin to feel better!!!

Such a good start. Now wait till you're further out and have to buy a bunch of new clothes. And people start noticing. Or don't recognise you. Way to go!

One teeny tiny thing - watch those carbs. Even the carbs in soup. That's all...

Congratulations!
