May Sleevers Checking In!

Crunchy As Can Be

Hey everyone! I hope all your weekends went great!

I did ok this weekend, kept up the exercising through Saturday but decided to skip it yesterday (Sunday) to see if my back would feel any better so that I'd be more prepared for work today. The long and short of it-- my back did NOT feel significantly better, AND now I feel bad for skipping the gym knowing that I won't be able to get back to it until NEXT MONDAY!!

I work 12.5 hour shifts and will be resuming work today for the first time post-op (I'm nervous!), then driving straight to a friend's house for her birthday, which will take me at least an hour and a half... staying with her until sometime Thursday with plans of going to a casino, going to the beach, and helping her with stuff around the house... the coming home Thursday evening and working straight Friday through Sunday. I'm going to be exhausted but it's going to be good-- I miss her and haven't seen her since before surgery. Plus, she's my original surgery inspiration-- had lap band 3 years ago and is doing great weight-loss-wise. At least I know the eating part of the visit will be easy. :)

How are you all doing?

I am about 13 days behind you, but I am doing well.  I have yet to start a real exercise program as, up until last week, I had a horrible pain at an incision site that would not go away.  The Dr. checked it twice, and it was all fine.  She said there is a pretty deep stich in there that takes a while to heal.  Well, I think I ended up just ripping it out last Monday while getting my kids ready to go somewhere.  But, I went to the Dr. the next day, she felt around the site, I wasn't having trouble eating or drinking, so she deamed me ok!  So, I have not had that pain since last Tuesday.  But, I am tired.  I have a 6 y/o and an almost 3 y/o, and we have been busy busy this summer (I teach, so I get to spend the summer with them!).  So, although I have not gotten on my eliptical yet, I have been on my feet almost all the time.  We go on vacation Thursday (first EVER family vacation), so I plan to start my exercise when I return.
I am cleared for solid foods as of today--great since our vacation is Thursday.  I will plan on adding things in slowly.  The Dr. spoke to me about avoiding certain things for a while--tough red meats and things with peels, but I can't wait to chew!!
I am meeting my calories, but  not my daily protein.  I have recently found Click, and I am happy with it.  I need the little coffee shot, and it gives me extra protein.  I expect that starting solid foods will up my protein greatly as well.
I am so happy that I fought to get this revision.  My Dr. and her/his (there is one of each) have been GREAT!  I have lost over 20 pounds which is great, but it is unfortunately, part of the weight that I gained while my band was out, so I don't feel like I have made much progress.  I am ALMOST to the lowest weight I was with the band (6 pounds away), so I feel once I pass that, I will actually be starting my "sleeve" journey!!  But, I know that I should be proud of what has come off so far--I NEVER lost like this with the band!
So, thanks for checking in as it is nice to know how we all are coming along.
Have fun this week, and enjoy living that life of yours!

Doing pretty good here.  Losing ounces per day - wi**** was more, but this is a marathon not a race, right!  I am going to concentrate on protein this week - I generally have no trouble getting it in but I feel like I haven't been as diligent as I need to be so I am going to make it a focus.  I have my 3 mo appt in 2 weeks and would like to be down another 8 lbs if possible - YIKES!

Glad to hear everyone is doing well!!!

doing great here still losing. I love the inches that I have lost...even tho I am still heavy I FEEL so much better. Im down to the next size in my jean closet and they fit "nicely" my shirts are looking bigger in the waist area where I lost most of my weight so far. I hate how impatient I was becoming. I now hide my scale. with each bite I try to be aware of what I am eating. I will never again eat "crap". I love my fresh foods. I love cooking again. The summer is going to be a long one, my son is going for 5 weeks my hubby is gone for two of those and it will be just myself and my 5 yr old. The first time for us to be all alone. I am thinking movies, walks heck I dunno lol Of course it will be during the hottest time of the year and sometimes it gets close to 120 here. Not fun to be walking in however I did see a post on the new crystal lights and I plan on making some of those with the crushed ice and relaxing under the misters on the back patio I have zumba for the xbox and I plan on starting that wed. should be fun I hope. I also have an app for couch to 5k that I wanted to start.... soon!

Things are going well here- since mother's day I have lost 40 lb and I am thrilled!  I have been walking and trying new soft foods- life is good.  :)

My only challenge right now is getting my fluids all in.  I was really good at first, but lately nothing sounds good.  I miss the good old days of chugging an ice-cold glass of water after a long walk... Maybe I'll go try making a cup of tea for a change of pace and see if it goes down more easily.

Have a great week, everybody!

I'm semi-inching along. Vacation put me in a tail spin trying to stay on somewhat of an eating and drinking schedule. Just thankful I didn't gain weight.

Have checkup first week of July. Hope to reach that 30# weight loss since pre-op. We'll see.

Meh... my 3 week stall has reared its ugly head and is digging its heels into week 4 . I've been stuck at 309 since the 13th.

I know it's just a matter of time, but it's still frustrating.  I also haven't started back with a regular workout routine yet... I've gotten a few 30 min sessions in here and there, but nothing consistent.  I'm hoping once I get back into the swing of things with that (shooting for this week) the stall will break.

Have lots of energy now- getting in my water/protein and vitamins just fine- Luckily no problems for me after....but had a stall at 2 weeks that lasted 2 weeks and it finally broke after I stopped my protein shakes- I stopped them for 4 days - and lost 5lbs :)- then started them back up friday and haven't lost any again since then....IDK if it's related or not but seems like it-

I started at 235 in March  and weight 187 today- I did lost 30  pre op but kinda behind post op-with these stalls hopefully it kicks into gear soon! My goal is 135- hoping to get there by the end of the year!

Glad to hear from everyone-- sorry so many of you are in stalls. Just keep workin' it and you'll do great. Like WV Loser said, it's a marathon, not a race . But I know it can be a SUPER frustrating race!
