I was wondering if someone has a link or info regarding the stomach sizes commonly used and the pros/cons of different surgical approaches.  I think my surgeon uses 38 bougle (is that the right word??) and I was wondering if that is typical - small, med, large???

I have a 38 as well and that is all my Dr uses. He says it limits the chance of strictures due to being too tight [his personal opinion]. BUT it is possible to have a 38 bougie and be oversewn to a 36 or smaller. It seems like most DR's use between a 32-40 right now.

My surgeon told me yesterday mine was about a 32...he said don't get caught up in the number it really doesn't mean a whole lot. He said trust me I made your tummy nice and small...you will get great results..yippee!
