May Sleevers Checking In!

Hey everyone, how are you doing?

I just broke my mind-barrier of not wanting to work out after work and have gone to the gym every day for the last week, including the days when I've worked a 12.5 hour shift. Phew! Now that's something for me. Even if it's just a simple 30 minutes on the eliptical, I think making the effort to get there after my shift is over is helping me to make better choices later in the evening. I've still been making a couple of poorer decisions, but I can only imagine what other choices I'd have made in different cir****tances, and I think I might be ovulating as well... so... I'm just glad that I can own my actions and move on.

I'm not working again until this Sunday, and then after that, not until Friday of next week, so I'll have plenty of time to pre-cook and package my meals, work out, and focus on my health.

I love my sleeve and am so glad I made this choice!

How are you all doing lately?? Any issues coming up for you?

Well other than having slow weightloss and not being able to eat annything without throwing up i am doing good i have only lost 28 pounds since surgery and 40 since the week before surgery it seems to be held up at 222 for a week now and i dont know if its because im not eating well and getting my calories in or what. Every time i eat even mashed potatoes it comes back up...i know mashed potatoes is not good to eat but i was needing to find anything that i could keep down other than popcicles. I eat slow and chew up really good but it still doesnt help. Anyways i am glad to see that everything is going good for you.

Have you called your surgical team about this? It may be too late to be seen before the holiday weekend but maybe you can make an appointment for Tuesday or something. You may have strictures or adhesions that need to be checked out. Or, are you just eating too fast/too much? Do you measure your portions? Try to limit to 1 TBSP at a time of any mushy food. Wait at least 5 minutes between bites. Then try another tablespoon. Does that help?

If not, in the meantime, try going back to full liquids. If you can eat popsicles, try blending plain greek yogurt with fresh fruit in the blender or food processor, adding a little splenda or sugar free pudding mix and freezing it in popsicle forms or plastic cups with a chopstick/popsicle stick/plastic spoon standing up in it. Eat them like a high protein popsicle meal... at least you'd be getting something nutritional in.

Can you tolerate protein shakes? If not, have you tried one of the pre-made ones geared towards diabetics (low carb)? Check your grocery store or local CVS for single serve or small #s of bottles of this type of shake. I use EAS Advantage Carb Control in chocolate or strawberry for my shakes, which I don't drink daily.

Good luck-- I hope it gets better for you!

Hi I was sleeved 5/23/11 and I have lost 20lbs it is going very slow for me, I lost  13 of that the first week, but you know what at least I am down and I know I wouldn't be if not for the the surgery. So all in all I would say I am doing great, feel good, can eat, and work out . Life is good:)

I'm doing fantastic. 33 pounds off, still losing 1-2 pounds a day and thrilled.

I try to work out at least 3-4 times a week and stay active every day.

I am very strict with my diet and never feel hungry. I'm a happy girl

Things are going pretty well here I have been working out at the gym 3 days a week 30 mins on the eliptical and another 30-45 min of weights every time. I've never felt stronger or healthier. My diabetes is basically gone. I'm off all the diabetes meds since preop. I finally made it to onederland and have been going back and forth between 199-200lbs for about 3-4 days. I'm losing slowly but I'm still losing so I'm happy. I'm also considering going to the OH event in New Orleans. All and all doing ok!!

Hey!

Tomorrow I will be 2 months out and am down 40 pounds. Yay!

Today I had a bad eating day; I was making hash brown patties for the kids and it smelled sooooo good. I decided to eat one; BIG mistake. It got stuck and then I made another big mistake by trying to get it unstuck by drinking some orange juice....well, it all came out and I haven't been able to eat anything since. :(

Revision from sleeve to RNY is set for January 13, 2014.

:::Bighug::: It is the best possible thing that could happen. Now you'll be less likely to give in to temptation again :D

I'm not perfect either lmao I have had two instances of it is coming back up. It is a great way for my sleeve to remind me to stick to my guns!

I cant wait until I am two months out and I would love 40 pounds off :D thats my next goal. I was sleeved 28th of May so just barely over a month out here

I'm so glad we can all support one another on OH! Sounds like everyone is moving along and learning as they go... what a beautiful thing.
