my psych eval..

so I went today...I talked for all of two minutes and then listened to her talk the other 13 minutes of our session. She then put me to work on a 300 question "personality assesment" That it. Good thing I answered that PRIOR to going to an appt with my mom and finding out she has a 50% chance of thyroid cancer. My mental health definitely would not have been rated as high :(

so how did you get the questions prior to the appointment?  sorry to hear that of your mom

I meant prior to HER appointment. I answered them at my appt at 10am and then hers were at 3...sorry, I am not thinking as clearly as norm

Sorry you had the problem with your mom. Prayers for her. Mine was a detailed report that took 3 visits to the psychiatrist to fit the needs of the surgeon and insurance company. Just about put HIM in therapy!

How funny -- they gave you an MMPI !! (Minnisota multiphasic personality inventory) takes forever, doesn't it ? My psych eval was exactly 8 minutes long. I'm a therapist. I go into this office to see a psychologist. All the chairs are covered with linen napkins (I kid you not) So, I asked "do you have an issue with germs, or it this an interior design statement ?" He replies "it's not even my office !" We both laughed. He asked me why I was overweight. I told him I ate too much. That was about it. Cracked me up.

I had the MMPI yesterday too! OMG it was long and those questions where nuts.....like some people would really answer True to some of those

So what kind of stuff do they ask you on the test ?

basically:
are you an alcoholic
do u use drugs
do u have a temper
are you a shopoholic
are you abusive
are you abused



and they basically phrase it 100 ways
