Hard lump under incision area

I had sleeve surgery 6.28.11- All of the incisions seem to be healing well except one. The largest one on my right side (if your looking down) The incision has a hard lump under the skin- I don't have a fever, nor is the incision red or hot to the touch. This is the same incision that hurts when I move my ab muscles too far to the left or right. Any ideas? Should I call the doc? I have my first follow up appt on Wed 7.13- should I just wait to tell the doc at the appt?

I posted about this myself about a week ago (my surgery was 6/21). I was worried. The doctor says it's normal thickening of the scar tissue, was normal and it will go away. Mine feels like an egg or something under there. *shrug* I figure if it's not gone by my 6 week follow up, I'll talk to him about it again

If the pain is too unbearable go ahead and call the doc. If it is not too bad you are probably O****il your followup appointment. Mine had a bit of a lump too but did not have any pain. Let me know if I can help.

My surgery was on 6/30 and I have the exact same thing. I'm hoping it is normal, although I admit my first thought was hernia. If mine gets any worse, I will call my doc, Like you, my follow-up is on the 13th.

Hello, I had my surgery 6/6/11 and I have those same lumps under my small incisions. It's normal. Don't fret!!!

I had my right hip replaced Mid January! Have about an 18" incision! It was a huge lump which I started massaging daily with nivea cream to help the scar soften up! I would imagine the same thing would help with the scars on the tummy!

yep that is normal!! That is where they pulled the tummy out.
it will get better with time. just know it is normal...

unless it is smelling or oozing or a burning red. Please dont worry.
We all have had the same issue.
