That's good to hear it's doable, at least!

Glad to hear everything went well for you! Take it easy on the job- I know even if I was doing my old desk job I would have had an issue putting in a full 8 soon after surgery. Just take the time if you can and if you need it. Big hugs to you and your partner, this will be a wonderful journey for the both of you. Having a loving supportive person by your side makes even the most difficult times a lot easier!

Great advice- the first days may not be 8 hours, but I'll give it my best . Again, do know I could have done this without my partner.

Hi Ruggie,
I'm glad to hear your surgery went well, and except for the pain in the recovery room and that your recovery is going well also. You're fortunate to have a supportive partner at home too.

I went on a vacation at 5 weeks post-op and did pretty well with my eating. I took protein powder so I could take my morning vitamins with it. And took some string cheese. I was barely eating dense protein at 5 weeks and the trip forced me to take that jump and eat real foods. I did well eating eggs at that time too.

I'll probably see you at the next support group meeting in August. I've only attended two but feel that the contact with Dr C and getting whatever info he imparts is helpful. I'm struggling a bit to get to goal and am so close.

I hope you continue to do so well with your weight loss. It's a wonderful surgery.

Hey there -

Great to see another Dr. C. patient, and if you attend the Sac group session, then we'll definitely end up meeting next month in August! ;)

I like the idea of protein powder in the morning while traveling - saves hassle.  Glad to hear it worked well for you.

Thanks so much for writing so honestly about your experience.  I'm scheduled for 8/1, only 22 days away!  It's good to know what to possibly expect.

Yup, you pretty much detailed the adventure to a "T"!  I wish I could have read something like this before my surgery.  Glad that you're feeling better, its amazing each and every day brings you a step closer to feeling normal again.  I took two weeks off, but really only needed 1, the second week I used as a staycation and took the family to the fair, the zoo, the beach... went swimming at a friends house.  Then back to work I went (I too work in SF) and everything is fine and back to normal at my "Fat" desk job!  Except I have lots more energy and now take hour walks at lunch instead of eating at my desk.  Keep us posted on your recovery! Good luck!

Congrats!  I am so glad your surgery was a success!  :-)

I am about to post my story as well.  It was truly an adventure, and I was blessed that most of it was good.
