Liquid diet

Well, on Monday when I started this liquid pre-op I thought it was the worse thing in the world and I'd never make it through. But here it is day 4 and I've stuck to it as strict as possible and actually feel ok today. No growling or grumbling in the tummy today...and a little more energetic. Surgery is set for the 25th...11 days away. I'm excited and nervous at the same time.
I'm more confident today that I can withstand this liquid diet and I'm on my way to a new me!!!

I am excited for you....I went to an information session last night and I have decided it's a go for me.  I called this morning and made all my necessary appointments......I pray that all goes well for you...

Thank you very much.  Good luck on your journey also.  It's been a long 6 months working up to this but I'm thankful for all of the education and the appointments with the dieteicians. It's really made it easier to make these changes in my lifestyle

Good on you for sticking to it... I start mine tomorrow. Have been trying to do one or two days a week all or mostly liquids to try and get used to it but I know it's going to be tough. Like most things though, I guess the first couple of days are the worst.
I'm sure you'll sail through with flying colours and good luck with your surgery and your new you!

Thank you. My best advice to you is the first two days are the toughest!!! And don't go any place where you are exposed to "food" lol  The third day was a little easier, but today I'm doing just fine.
If you can get the chicken soup flavored protein mix (Unjury brand) it is awesome. My spouse and I are both having the surgery on the 25th and we love the "chicken soup" makes us feel like we are actually eating soup! I got a little creative last night and crushed ice and mixed the chocolate flavor with a little water and poured over ice like a snowball (snowcone) The crunching on the ice along with the chocoalte flavor really seemed to help us both.
Good luck, know that it's only a temporary thing and you have to get through it for a successful surgery.
Good luck!!!

Good for you to stay with it. I was lucky and did not have to do a liquid preop but I have heard they are hard. Believe me the wait is worth it and you will feel so much better on the other side. Got a place saved for you on the losers bench.

You're doing great!!!  i was the biggest weenie about it and only had to do it for a week.  i liked the chicken soup Unjury too.  Turns out protein drinks make me sick as a dog, but one can basically stand anything when there is a reward at the end!

try not to feel too worried but also don't get freaked out if you are freaked out closer to the time of the surgery.  totally normal.  post, post, post.  we're here for you!!!!!  (((((((hugs))))) to you both!

Our surgeon allows us to have dannon lite and fit yogurt, sugar free applesauce and sugar free jello.  I made protein jello and pudding, using 2 scoops of unflavored protein powder and mixining it with the sugar free jello or sugar free pudding. Are you allowed any of that?
The first two days are the toughest..the third isn't so bad and finally I'm at my fourth day and it's not bad at all.  Find things to keep yourself occupied and not thinking about food! That was my biggest downfall on Monday and Tuesday. All I thought about was what I wanted to eat and it made it worse!
Read, walk, talk on the phone, do anything that will take your mind off of food. And remember the reason you are doing this...you've come this far, it's only 2 weeks..YOU CAN DO IT!!
And remember you have your OH friends for support!
I also looked at a lot of before and after pics and it helped motivate me that this liquid diet was worth what my results will be.
Good luck!!!!
