The biggest thing that changed the my mind about getting the band was my BMI. Not only did my nut and surgeon tell me how much weight I might lose but reading the boards. When I was on the lap board everyone I saw on there had been lightweights. I'm 5'2 and my consult weight was 305 and 50 or 60 lbs. will not cut it for me. There are people who lose over 100 lbs. My surgeon also said a lot of his patients with higher BMIs were getting revisions. The lap-band people were very encouraging but ultimatley my decision came from my surgeons.

Only you can make this decision and some people are very defensive over their band, sleeve, pouch, DS (especially them lol).

The only thing you need to be scared of is the LAP BAND!!!!

I was scared of having my stomach dissected until my mom told me my grandmom had 75% of hers removed in the 70's because of an ulcer.  She's now 83 and alive and kicking!!!

I am not even 7 months out and I am 10 pounds from goal.  I live a normal life, feel great about myself, am healthy as a horse.  Life is GREAT because of my sleeve!!!!!
