I had mentioned before about having a tummy tuck with liposuction and breast lift in October. I am posting this question here because I hear the plastic surgery forum is fairly dead!

So anyhoo, I am posing a question about implants. I am having a lift and with a lift your breast get smaller..With the weight loss I went from a 40DD to a 36 D.and am in need of lifting these puppies up....the plastic surgeon is expecting I will be a C post op..I have a larger frame and am considering doing an implant also..my family and I are going in to speak with him again but I wanted to get some opinions from you ladies..I have heard that doing an implant with the lift gives a better result as no fullness can be returned to the top of the breast..I just dont want to regret not doing this properly..

Do you have an implant? Are you happy with it? Saline or Silicone? did you have a breast lift also? Gimme the scoop!!!

oh wow, glad you asked... I was planning on asking about implants and lifts...

I am still almost the same size as back in January, between 34-36 C-D but my breasts certainly fell after the weight loss. I am really curious although I haven't researched much. do you know if only with putting implants they kind of get a little lifted naturally? or a lift is usually necessary for wls patients?

From the research ive done and speaking with the plastic surgeon an implant can give a little bit of lift but for myself personally I need way more help that that. When he measured and showed me where my nipple should be and where it was..i realized how much gravity truly took its toll..
So breast lift it will be for me! But I am sure when you go for a consult your doc will let you know how your situation is..

I have heard that a weight gain or loss of just 5-10 lbs can make breasts sag...so 102 lbs really took its toll..

cool, thanks for the advice. it seems to be a really a case by case thing. somehow it seems a bit stupid for me to put implants when I am already a size C-D. let's see what my doctor says when I get a chance to see him. this was really the only bad thing that happened to me after the surgery, the boobs falling. I used to love mine. oh well.

wow, can't believe you lost 100 pounds! haven't seen you in a while - you look amazing!

I am only 3 1/2 weeks out of surgery, but considering I don't have that big of a chest now - I would definitely be interested in implants. My surgeons work closely with a group of reconstructive/plastic surgeons and their work is amazing... I would definitely go for it, if I felt that I needed it.

After getting to goal my breasts were a 36D and I opted for a lift only.  I ended up a 34C or in some cases a 32D.  Sometimes I feel kinda small but I am scared to put something foreign in my body which WILL require another surgery at some point.  But at my height and weight which is 135 lbs at 5'7 is fairly thin so I'm still on the fence.  My hubby says I don't need them but he's not really objective because he loves me the way I am.  My surgeon says implants end up being a big pain in the ass for a lot of people because somehow they are never satisfied...either they are too small or too big or they get an encapsulation and he's always doing revisions on them.  Also he thinks most WLS patients should not place the implants at the time of the lift because the skin needs to stabilize.  But he goes case by case depending on how long your fold is.  In my case, he would have placed them but I said no.  Sometimes I regret it and sometimes I don't.  I have another round of plastics to do and I'm still thinking about them.

By the way, the plastics forum is very active.  I always read and post over there.

thanks for giving us a first hand experience and opinion..

i have been reading that some docs wont put them in during the lift and some will..

i still have a few months to consider everything..im leaning towards not doing it because im so active and im afraid ill have some crazy problem or pop one on a surf board!!

i am planning on a lift with no implants...  i have gone from a 44DDD to a 40F (don't know how that happened!) and i would be happy to lose a cup size or two...  i am starting a new job at a law firm, and when i bought my new suit i needed some blouses -- in order to fit across my boobs without gapping, i have to buy a size 18, and then they are too big across the shoulders... that sucks....  between my boobs and my batwings, i have to buy a much larger size than i would like...  i'd be a great size 14 otherwise...

time to pay a visit to the tailor until i can do the plastics...

I have a hard time understanding implants, maybe because I have been heavy chested all my life and would love to be a size C (currently H but working my way back to a G after childbirth).  I will or actually already do need a lift.  I find them embarassing, pain in the back and neck etc...

But I know others that have self confidence issues as I do with having large ones, can we ever really make ourselves happy with our bodies?  I do hope some day that I will be happy with my body and it may take a few years to do this but I will be pretty much happy just to get the weight off and live my life.  I am hoping for surgery at the end of September.

I'm gonna give you a couple points of view.....both professional and personal.....but they are both the same really.

Leave yourself "Adjustable"..... Bra technology gives you some varied options. If your to big....it takes options away.

Be a size that fits "most" clothes......

On a personal note which may be against the majority (men) ....not into the big hoopties.

You have the advantage of "Young and Pretty" and having big'uns can conflict (or take attention away from your pretty) with the look of your total "package".

Hope that didn't sound to pervy !!!
