May Sleevers Checking In!

Crunchy As Can Be
on 8/3/11 11:43 pm - NY

Hey everybody-- how are y'all doing??

I'm good-- down almost 47lbs... noticed that I'm in a plateau or adjustment period and it's frustrating me, but also expecting to get my period soon, so I know that this is my normal pattern and not too worried about it.

I went to a new student orientation at my graduate school yesterday and am excited to start on a new challenge (as if I didn't have enough new stuff in my life already!) towards the end of the month...

And I kicked up my jogging routine a bit. I was only doing jogging/walking intervals once a week or so at the gym on the treadmill but I started twice a week (I go to the gym and do cardio normally 5-7x weekly and resistance bands 1-2x weekly) AND picked up my jogging time by a minute each cycle. I really want to be ready (readier) for my 5K in September.

How is everyone else doing?

Hi! I had my sleeve surgery on May 9! Feeling great as I have lost 52.2 pounds so far. I am at that half way point and couldn't feel better! I even posted a couple of pictures today for motivation.

Today the scale didn't move, but I'm confident it will. Good luck on your new graduate school adventure!

Better get to the gym now..... Thanks for the thread!
(Noticed my ticker is not up to date... will try to fix that now--lol)

Hello everyone!  I am doing great!  I am down 50# since surgery and with the 14 lost preoperatively total of 64# since January!!!!  This doesn't even seem real to me sometimes.  I have struggled with my weight my whole adult life.  My only regret is I wish I would have done this at LEAST 10 years ago!

I started an intense work out program July 5th and am sticking with it.  I have a friend and a nephew that go with me so it helps keep me accountable.  I am also hoping to walk/jog a 5K in September.

There are days I have to almost make myself remember to eat!  Anyone that knows me knows that is not the "old" me!  I never missed a meal, heck I never missed a snack either!!  LOL!

Loving my sleeve!  Hope all the other May sleevers are doing great also!

God Bless!
Ruthie

Doing really well.  I'm down 50 since surgery May 19 and 63  since starting my preop liquids.  Even though I have a long way to go, I feel sooooo much better.  I'm really good with my eating plan aside from the occassional bite here or there.  I've not been consistant with my walking though.  I've cleared the treadmill area of my basement and replaced our broken Wii (have Wii Fit.)  So, no more excuses in this hot, humid weather when I don't get myself out the door for my walk.  :)

I am doing well now, after my surgery I had quite a few complications which slowed my start down a bit. I am down 70 lbs but that is only because I was on nothing by mouth for 2 months meaning I was being fed via IV. Everything is good now though and I am getting used to my new stomach. Trying to get my life back to normal meaning work and grinding out school which I am about 3 months behind on now. Anyway, happy to be alive even happier to be healthier and happier!

I exercise 5-6x a week....Weight training 3x, cardio the other days....I am getting so much stronger and more endurance...I love that!

I can drink easily now....

Hair loss is huge...and I hate eating....but other than that life is AWESOME!

Doing good here too I have my surguversary next week and Im down 52 pounds from the first day I met the doc till today. Im down 70 pounds from my all time high weight!!!! Im a little sore from working out so im taking a day off from work outs today but otherwise good. working out 3 days a week normally cardio 30 mins then weights 30 mins. Im also losing hair like crazy and Im a little concerned about that but I knew I would. Hopefully this passes quickly and my hair grows back. Otherwise all is well I got some new clothes too and I got into a pair of size 14 jeans and a large shirt!!! I think I probably should have waited though cause it seems my stall is over and Im back to losing again thank goodness!!!

wow everyone has lost so much. Whenever TOM arrives I stall for a week so yay. I do cardio every weekday and take sat and sundays off. I do an hour each day on the treadmill. Im waiting for a DVD to use my hand weights for some weight training as well. I wish I was closer to 50lbs gone its been a bit slow for me. sometimes I drop 5-8 lbs the week after TOM so we shall see what next week brings

I struggle with never being hungry and not getting in enough calories. I usually get to my goal with protein and definitely reach my goal for water

gl everyone keep on going

Hey there - so great to hear everyone is doing so well.  I too am pretty pleased with the first 3 months of my new life.  I'm down 52 lbs. and 1/2 way to goal.  For the most part I have little to no interest in food but when I do eat it is generally protein or something light that sits well on my tummy.   No hair loss as of yet.

Keep up the great work!!!

Beth
