OT: DR who did my psych eval

I learned to day that the doctor who did my psych eval and my ADHD eval committed suicide and killed her 13 year old son.

I just say her 3 weeks ago, since I still take Celexa.  She seemed a bit off but I would never have imagined this outcome.  I wish someone on her staff had been able to help her.  I sincerely hope her soul and her son's soul is resting in peace.

I tried convincing her to get a VSG indirectly.  She asked me about the recovery etc., which I took as her being interested in the surgery. 

Life is short and often times difficult.  Do your best to enjoy it!!

So sad... and kind of scary. I know it was very unsettling when the school resource officer in our town killed his wife and himself. 13 year old... just tragic all around

There are no good explanations.  A person has got to be in a lot of pain to go to such lengths. 

They surely do have to be in what feels like insurmountable pain to do such a thing.  I am sorry for their loss to family and friends. 

Hearing about her in the news and all the speculation, really messed my up today.  I did not know her personally, but she gave me food for thought.

That is TRAGIC...that she took her child's life #1  ..........tragic poor kid
Professionals sure aren't exempt from mental illness...in fact its what draws many of em to the field!

At times it sure is hard to...remember that wherever we are, whatever cir****tance we are IN...in LIFE....

that   EVERYTHING CHANGES!!  ITS TEMPORARY!! THIS TOO SHALL PASS!! BE PATIENT and RIDE IT OUT!! IT DOES GET BETTER SOONER or LATER!

My next door neighbor and good friend, a couplea yrs ago SHOT HERSELF! leaving behind 4 kids...aged 2, 4, 12 and 16.
I talked with her the DAY BEFORE...she never told me or let on...she was stressed on the job...when she threatened to report the Doctor she worked for... for 11 years, with medicaid and medicare fraud.

Makes no sense at all....but I guess it doesn't have to.


BE WELL...devastating for sure...this too shall pass!

Its sad when someone kills themselves but even sadder when they take family with them.  I have to keep telling myself that mental illness is a disease and people that do these things simply are not in their right minds but it sure is sad for what could have been.

This is very sad. I work regularly with patients who attempt suicide and often are very young... it makes my heart ache to know that people can feel so incredibly hopeless that the only real solution they can think of is to end it all. It's 1000x worse when they succeed and also take people along with them.

Sad story.

WOW, I just say this story on the local news.

According to the news story, her ex-husband thinks that she may have killed her son to save him from being bullied in school. He was was severely bullied by other kids for being fat. The son had previously attended the Wellsprings School in NC.  That is the school featured on the television show "Too fat for 15".  The school district that they lived in denied (wouldn't allow) the son to return to the school. But this was speculation.

Either way this is an extremely sad story.
