will my headaches go away?

I live my life with constant headaches.....constant. I have been diagnosed with complicated migraines (those are less common) but day to day I live with tension headaches that just SUCK.

I read that 50% lose the headaches after WLS.

If you had headaches, did they decrease?

I had horrible, frequent migraines.  Mine have gone from a few times a week to a few times a month - sometimes as little as two a month.  They are much less severe.  I would often have to go to the ER for shots. The pain starts on the right side of my neck and moves to my temple.   Finally I found a pill (Relpax).  It was super expensive and insurance did not cover it.  Had to have it though.  Now I can take Sumatriptan, which is cheap at Costco.  The migraines were ruining my life, I was missing a lot of work.  They are what ultimately led me down the path to WLS.  I feel your pain, literally.  I still have a lot of anxiety if I don't have enough migraine pills in the house.  :(

Yes.  I have to have them.  I am down to 4 pills, which in theory is enough to last me a couple of weeks or longer.  But I am picking up a refill this weekend.  I need to know they are there, because the pain used to be so bad.  I don't go anwhere without them.  I had every test you can think of, tried every pill and therapy.  Horrible.  They would make me throw up.  I haven't thrown up one time since I had my surgery.  Not even right after.  See how whack I am getting about my pills?  Jeez!

I had almost constant tension headaches and the occasional ocular migraines before surgery. I have had maybe 3 headaches (most likely caused by dehydration) in the 8 weeks since surgery.

YAY!!!!!!

Before surgery  had a head ache every day of my life, I lived on advil and aleve. Migraines for me where few and far between thankfully. Since my vsg I can probably count on one hand the headaches I have had in the last 5 months.  Soo happy!
