I've heard there are extender tools out there you can get to help with such things.

It seems like if you can't reach your butt you're going to need to get someone to do it for you?

Thank you for responding.  Yeah had hubby do it but even after being together 10 years it was still embarassing to have him wipe my butt lol  I need to find something that will work.  Was hoping someone up here had the same experience or similar.  Kerry

I've also heard of people using long tongs (like for barbequing)and wadding up toilet paper in them. Do a search, I know i've seen other things as well.

If you have a shower head with a hose attachment that works wonderfully. I did that a few times after my galbladder surgery.

My butt is huge so I had to wipe from the front and tried my best not to hit the vaginal area. I used unscented baby wipes and did the best I could. I stayed very clean this way. Hubby may have to do this for a while but if you are by yourself and desperate you will figure it out. It's easier with something moist.

I found that if I hold a pillow against my stomach when wiping, I was able to do it with minimal pain.  You use the pillow as a splint.

Hope it works!!

Yes, there are extenders (kind of like tongs, like someone else said, but designed to hold the TP) that you can get.  A drugstore that has medical supply stuff would carry them.  And use moist wipes for sure.  Hey, at least its only a temporary problem!
