did anyone not do liquids at ALL?
I posted a little while ago about my pre-op diet. Its two weeks...but is not all liquids. I do have to do 2 protein shakes a day, but I can eat a little too...even some meat and a teensy bit of whole grain starches....but most fruits/veggies
anyway, I asked today and I do not have to do ANY ALL liquids, not even a day....basically follow this diet for two weeks....and then quit eating the night before...and tada! surgery.
This actualyl scares me a little, isn't it better to be on all liquids?

OK I am glad you do not have to do CLEAR.
My surgeon's office told me that doing clear (after full liquids) is the bowel prep.
So...my concern for you is that your bowels may not be "cleared"..and will take a bit afterwards to get going again. This could lead to constipation issues.. I had none..just took awhile..
Hmm..good luck. (ok a little jealous) LOL

I did not have ANY preop diet and ate right up until dinner the night before!
I actually did feel weird about it (at the last minute) but everything turned out fine!
I think sometimes that the all liquid approach is more of a means to limit the temptation that occurs when you are eating food. Most important is the shrinking of the liver, so I think it's more important to follow the guidelines than about being on liquids only.

Maintain daily activity levels and practice clean eating........still battling some unhealthy behaviors!
I don't have any specific diet before surgery, but I do have a bowel prep to do the day before surgery. I'm sure that will be a blast! Or not.
I was told that my surgeon only requires diets ahead of time if he thinks that tummy fat is going to be an issue for the surgery, or if you gain a bunch of weight between the consultation and the pre-op testing day.
