I tried too many new things today in preparation for the sleeve:
1. Nectar protein,I tried to make a smoothie out of it. Gross!
2. spinach, egg and cheese thing for lunch, thought it would be good when I am on mushies later= too eggy
3. greek yogurt- wasnt in love...

yea...so tonight I puked....a lot. I think its my body getting adjusted to all the new vitamins I am on, all the milk Iam drinking (I rarely drank milk before) and all the new creamy foods.

I am sooo sick, so from now on I know to only try ONE new thing a day, because apparently my stomach is not what it used to be.  I also think it is also my nerves too....since I had a few minutes of panic earlier...

What was in the smoothie?  I love Nectar protein mixes.....guess different strokes for different folks!

Greek yogurt is usually pretty nasty by itself....with a bit of flavor its great.  You can try adding fruit, SF Torani syrups, flavored protein mixes, etc.

(((HUGS)))

Awwwe Paige!

You are a BRAAAAVE girl! I feel so bad for you! I have heard about the nectar stuff but haven't tried it. I made a delish peanut butter shake this morning with Unjury brand vanilla powder, soymilk (light), some ice, and a teaspoon of "better n peanut butter" from Trader Joes.

I should be substituting all meals with healthy stuff, but my version of healthy is a progresso light soup with lemon. I can't do another shake, like you, I think it's just too much "creamy" stuff in one day and I am not a milk/ soy drinker at all.

What are you panicking about? Just surgery coming up? I'm nervous too but looking forward to getting it over with!

Get better soon!

Hi I'm Diana! I'm 5'10 and hoping to get down to 165 :) Feel free to friend me!

If you are use to sweetened yogurts plain thick, Greek yogurt can throw you for a loop.
Greek yogurt is so high in protein and 0 fat that you might want to try it again
when you are able. Add your own zero or low carb sweeteners and flavors to plain
Greek yogurt.

Try this smoothie.
Mix in blender:
1/4 c. water
2-3 ice cubes
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
6 oz. Greek yogurt (I love Fage brand)
2 - 3 large fresh or frozen strawberries
OR 1/4 cup fresh or frozen blueberries.
This smoothie = about 50 grams of protein!

Fage Greek Yogurt is so thick its great for dips and toppings
like you would use sour cream.

You definitely have to find the right kind of Greek yogurt -- they're not all created equal! The only kind I've tried and loved is Brown Cow Bluberries on the Bottom -- it's really delicious but be sure to eat it when it's fresh out of the fridge (ie, very cold). I tried Chobani brand the other day because I heard it was good and I didn't like it at all. It was super bitter and just ick. It tasted like stomach bile :P

Keep experimenting! As for Nectar powders, I have the vanilla torte and it's pretty good. I mix it with 8 oz FF milk, a few teaspoons of instant decaf coffee and a few teaspoons of SF white chocolate and raspberry Torani syrups. Mix and serve over ice --- it tastes like a white chocolate raspberry latte!

The nectars only turn out well when mixed with water with a spoon.  ANy blending or shaking makes them frothy, bubbly and yucky.

Greek yogurt is an acquired taste.  I like mixing the plain, zero fat stuff with some splenda and spices (cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice) or extracts (like lemon or coconut)

SOrry you are feeling sickly.  Hope it passes soon!
