Question for the Vet's about carbs!

Well, I must be an anomaly here. I have been at goal since mid-April and have gradually increased my calories and carbs. The carbs that I do eat, are generally from fruits and veggies, dairy, and occasionally, a complex carb, like a little sweet potato. I don't eat bread, rice, or pasta. I average about 1200-1500 cal/day, about 80-100 grams of carbs, at least 80-100 grams/protein/day. I am almost 58 years old. I also exercise alot; about 5-6 days/week, including 2-3 days of strength training.

1200 cal/day is something to reach, the further out that you get. Your plan is very reasonable and follows what my plan and general good nutrition follows. At 6 months, my dietician didn't want me eating less than 800 cal/day, because of the potential for slowing down my metabolism. I did go up to 900-1100 and took off the last remaining lbs.

During my weight loss phase, I did keep the carbs between 40-50, sometimes 60. The carbs came from dairy, veggies, and a little fruit (further out).

2 months, I couldn't eat much at all, but by 6 months, I was up to 800-900 cal/day. Carbs were about 40-60.

The key to keeping your metabolism going, is strength trainining, exercise, and eating enough calories and protein to fuel your body. Strength training helps to preserve your lean muscle mass, which enables you to eat more calories and keeps your metabolism burning. Muscle at rest, burns alot more than fat.

I would say your nuts plan looks like one for a normie.... Textbook!!!

The plan your gave you is about a normal baseline for maintenance......

Try it for a week?????

Personally I think what your doing will lose weight for you.....
