OT but wanted to share

Life is very unpredictable and scary!  One of my co-workers passed away yesterday - she just recently turned 30!  She wasn't feeling well but kept brushing it off - finally on Monday she went to the ER - she had blood clots everywhere.   They had to put her in a medically induced coma and medically paralyze her.  Unfortunately on Thursday she went from bad to worse and her brain swelled.  They took her off life support and she passed last night.    They are unsure of the cause - either 1.) a disorder or disease, 2.) being on birth control and smoking. 

Please please listen to your body - if anything doesn't feel right - just get it checked out.  Blood clots are a scary thing and I know for us VSG'ers it is in the forefront of our minds right after surgery.  

I think thi**** hard for me because I turn 30 next week - and just started taking BC for the first time this month.  So far I know 2 people who have passed in the last 6 months from blood clot related issues.  I am sooo happy to have this surgery to help extend and improve my quality of life.  I know life is precious and I can't wait to really start living it.

Please keep her family in your prayers.   I love you all my OH family!

I am very sorry to hear . you did speak with your doctor before you started your BC?  We have to have permission from my doctor to start the BC again just wanting to make sure you are ok.

Life is VERY fragile.  This is just another reminder to us all. Thanks a lot for sharing!!!

Wow that is so sad, my heart goes out to her family. Yes, life is fragile and short, always tell your loved ones how much you love them.
