NSV (albeit far fetched): Jogging and Protein...

Crunchy As Can Be
on 9/30/11 9:49 am - NY
Just came home from a jog around my neighborhood... I kinda of look like a fool when I'm jogging. My phone and keys are in my sports bra, I tend to have a shuffle of a gait like an old man (I'm a 30 year old woman!), and I keep my mouth open for ease of breathing, so my bottom lip bobs up and down a little with every step. Not the most attractive, but I don't care because I'm exercising and doing something good for my body.

Well... add to my high attractiveness the fact that I ate a couple of flies on today's jog (the protein part of the NSV) and ended up with spit all down the front of my shirt/right arm when I ungracefully tried to expel said flies from my bobbing-lipped-mouth and any onlookers'd be able to tell I was having myself a grand old time.

Sigh. Getting skinny sure isn't glamorous, but it makes for some good OH posts from time to time.

Awesome NSV,
I power walked into a bunch of gnats half went up my nose and other half were swallowed.
It's not attractive, but effective. Keep pushing.

Em: your problem is jogging. :) It's evil.

But I'm proud (and jealous) that you are doing it. and if you happen to take a fly or four in...yay protein!

I was running on the treadmill at the gym today and unfortunately looked down to see the lose skin on my arms shifting back and forth with every pump of my arms. Man, I was thinking I was looking pretty awesome, too!

Girlie, you are just a real athelete. Real athletes spit, snot, stop by the side of the road and eliminate and nobody (who is a real athelete) thinks twice.

Aw, thanks guys-- you really know how to make a girl smile!

Michelle-- next time it's gonna be you and me running around Central Park catching those flies in our mouths together (possibly after our next OH meetup at a bar)!

Brandilynn-- though I know I don't really look like one, after going for a jog or doing races I sure feel like an athlete. I can't wait to keep it up!

Honey please!  Pretty is as pretty does - Athletic is as athletic does.

You throw a brown flag on the play if someone says you have to look like X thing.  That's a crock!!

PS edit to add - you HAVE seen this yes?

REAL athletes.  WAY different bodies.  Not all similarly attractive, but all absolutely built for their sport!
