Pilates NSV

I posted on Thursday about my 1 month surgiversary appt with my surgeon.  I am doing really well, and he cleared me to return to Pilates.  I think this is because he does not know how difficult Pilates can be!

Nevertheless, I scheduled a private appt with my teacher today (who happens to be an R.N.) and went back for the first time in over a month.  IT WAS GREAT!  I told her about my surgery, and she was very supportive.  She looked at my scars (all healed!) and we went very slowly through the basic moves (no open kinetic chain work) and being smaller made a BIG difference.  I thought I would have lost everything without doing it for a month, and I was weaker, but I still did great.  Definitely not back at zero!

I love Pilates so much, and it was great to do something physical that makes me feel so good.  I have always stopped at 235 lbs before when I was lost weight in the past few years, and I have done Pilates at more-or-less at this size, but I feel this yearning to be able to do even more.  So we are going to work gently for a few more weeks until I can really throw myself back into it.

I think you are going to love your pilates being smaller. What a great thing to do pre surgery. Going back so soon will also be great because you  probably haven't lost much strength. I was kick boxing before but didn't start back for six months so I was playing catch up but it is fun to do being lighter!
Congratulations on your surgery and your new life!

Congrats on your surgery and your return to pilates. I'm a huge fan too. It's even more fantastic as you lose weight and can actually see your body change.

What on earth is an NSV? Or an SV for that matter. Some of the abbreviations I can figure out but real stuck on this one

NSV = Non-Scale Victory, SV = Scale Victory.  I had the same question early on!!
