My thoughts and well wishes go out to you.  I'm an October VSG'er too.  It's our turn to "rock that sleeve"!

Best of luck to you and don't worry about the anesthesia. I went to get my tonsils taken out when I was 4 or 5 and almost died in relation to anesthesia. When I told the anesthesiologist that, he assured me (along w/my surgeon) that anesthesia has come a long way and that he would put me under in stages for extra precaution.

I came through fine and they told me that I didn't have any reactions or complications during surgery. The surgery was uneventful even though it took 45 minutes just to find a vein large enough to hook up an IV and the anesthesiologist still had to give me the main IV after I was under. Also, they did not give me a catheter so everyone doesn't get one.

Just go in calm and knowing that it is in God's hands and you will be fine. A positive attitude will make a world of difference.

You can do this and you deserve an optimal healthy life. Best of luck to you,
