how are the 2wks-6wks out peeps??
Hey,
I am three weeks out as of Wednesday.
Food - I am still on mushies/soft protein and I can advance to fish and shrimp on Oct 12th. I get about 500-600 calories. I always do a protein shake to make my 60 grams. A few days I have come up short but for the most part I at least get the 60 grams in. I get my water in as well. I don't really like to add any thing to my water such as crystal light, etc. I like it plain and cold.
Stalls/Gains/Loss - I have lost 15 pounds since surgery. I believe I am currently in the dreaded three week stall. I haven't lost any weight all week. I have been going up and down this one pound. I am not worried though, I know my loss will continue when my body is ready and adjusted to my new lifestyle.
Exercise - I usually go walking. The first two weeks it was intermittent, go one day but not the next, then go the next day. I have walked everyday for the last week and now that I am back at work I walk with my co-workers during lunch and I also have access to a gym at work so their shouldn't be any excuses.
NSV- I am down a size from a 16 to a 14. I can still wear some of my smaller 16's but I am in 14's. I have a lot of extra room in my shirts. My husband really notices. So I am excited for what is to come.

Wonderful thread! I'm really enjoying all these answers. I am doing great! So happy and amazed to be feeling this way only 5-1/2 weeks out.
Food - got cleared for all foods at 5 weeks. I haven't had anything not sit right, except for some grilled chicken breast I ate last night. I mostly have a steel sleeve (never felt nauseated once), but I realized sitting there after dinner last night that my tummy didn't feel right and I'm sure it was the chicken. I do one shake a day to keep protein above 70 g/day. Don't think I could do it with just food yet. Staying between 600 and 650 cal/day and less than 40 g carbs.
Stalls/Gains/Loss - I've lost about 25 pounds since surgery. I haven't stalled exactly, a day of no loss here and then, once I "gained" but it's not a problem.
Exercise - I started back to Pilates and did 3 classes this week. I am far weaker than before surgery, and that has been a little discouraging. On the other hand, I fold up better since my belly's gotten smaller. I really need to walk 2 or 3 days a week.
NSV - All the help I've gotten from you guys on this board!! I am feeling very hopeful that I can work through some of my food issues in a way that I haven't been able to before. I'm very greatful!
Food- On phase III Diet: Having no issues with any foods or liquids. Getting between 700-800 Cals and 80 to 90 grams protien. On phase III eating tuna, ham (canadian bacon), cottage cheese, scrambled eggs, egg beaters all pureed of course. My fav is a slice canadian bacon with some cottage cheese heated some. I'm finding my fiber is low and need to suppliment on fiber. For veggies and fruit still doing V8 juice, apple sauce and bananas. I find my calories are harder to get in then PHase II due to the dence meals. I did make a high protien paste that was yummy!
Stall/Loss - I stalled for about five days at 199/200. But now down to 195. From my high weight, thats 44lbs. down. I was also cleared for exercise so stepping that up and I suspect my rate of weight loss will accerate some.
Exercise - Good, walk every other day 1 to 2 miles and swim the other three days for 20 to 30 minutes.
NSV- Down to 36inch jeans and size 17 shirt! Moving is a lot easier and joints are not hurting. No more BP meds!

I am 5 weeks 2 days out...and while I didn't have major complications, it took me 3 weeks to be able to get enough energy to work and drive.
Food - I am on a "moist" diet where most things are permissable as long as I follow protein first, then veggies/fruit and then carbs, if there's room. All my food needs to be "moist" for another week. I don't tolerate milk products well, but hoping probiotics will help me get the right bacteria back in my gut. I can tolerate a scoop of protein mixed with my coffee in the morning, so I am able to keep above 60 g protein most days. I eat between 600 - 800 calories a day, and I try to stay closer to 800 when I exercise.
Stalls/Gains/Loss - I think I am just a very slow loser of pounds. From the morning of surgery, I lost 4 lbs in 2 weeks and then 7 in the next 2 weeks. I only weigh every 2 weeks, so I will find out how these past 2 weeks have been at the doctor's office. I am definitely losing inches, though! I have almost lost my pants twice and had a wardrobe malfunction in the middle of Starbucks the other day. Didn't even know my pants were halfway down my hips until I caught my reflection in the goodies bar where they keep the cookies, etc. ha!
Exercise - I didn't have energy to walk more than a few steps at a time until about 2 weeks ago. My new addiction, however, is walking a trail by my house. It's a paved path around soccer fields , but it also goes into the woods and by the dog park. It is up and down hills, so I cut through before the final big hill since I haven't consumed enough calories to attempt it yet!
NSV - I took pictures the morning of surgery and my one month surgiversary. I plan on taking one every month to see the progression. You can see me melting away, even if the scale is not showing the loss. I am now wearing 1X shirts that I bought on clearance in summer, hoping it would still be winter when I was down to 1X, and here it is just the beginning of fall and they fit!!!
My biggest struggle has been figuring out my schedule. When I work, all time flies out the window! I have to set reminders to eat, to drink, to get up and move, etc. The other day I didn't eat lunch in time, almost passed out in the drive thru line and then ate my food so fast I thought I was going to die. I get light headed when I don't eat, but sometimes the thought of eating makes me want to vomit, so I'm still trying to adjust my head and my clock!!! I especially have learned it's important to have a snack (my go to is string cheese) before taking my 1.5 mile walk or I will be lightheaded and shaking by the end.
All in all, I am so glad I went through with the surgery! On the days where I don't feel like I'm making much progress, I pull out my before/after pic on my phone and reframe my thoughts around the success that I have had!

I'm 5 weeks out as of this past Thursday. Surgery was Sept. 1st.
Food: I'm eating soft foods but have a tendency to go back to soups and pureed foods just cuz they go down a little easier sometimes. BUT I haven't really had any problems with foods other than maybe the day I tried spaghetti sauce. Didn't throw up but it gave me "bubbly throat" so I've been really careful about tomatoe based products since.
The only thing I really need to concentrate on is eating slow...timing out my meals between liquids.
Overall it's been pretty non-eventful.
Stalls/Gains/Loss: So far I haven't had any stalls. I only weigh in when I go to support group...at least once a week. I'm not paying attention to the numbers...just how I feel. I've lost 25 pounds since surgery and 49 lbs since my highest weight. I feel pretty darn good.
Exercise: I'm back exercising but taking it a tad slower than I was before the surgery. I got as strong as I could pre-surgery and I trully believe that it was what helped me to heal very quickly. I was given the okay to get back in the pool for water aerobics within two weeks. I'm back with my personal trainer and we've started lifting weights. I feel strong..and keep getting stronger every day.
NSV: I have a new "old" wardrobe. I can now fit into clothes that I haven't fit into for years. In fact, they are so dusty I need to take them to the cleaners! Ha! I used to wear a 26/28 and now I'm into 18/20's. In fact, I just had to retire my old bathing suit for a size 18. My boss bough me a "one size fits all" outfit for my birthday and it fit perfect. My husband bought me a Tiger's hoodie that is two sizes smaller too! Clothes are fitting better and better everyday.
This was the best thing that I ever did for myself. I can't wait to hit other milestones! Hooray for all of us!!!

I'm 2.5 weeks out. Very slow looser- 9 lbs since surgery.
Food- I just started pureed food. I literally hate protein shakes. But...tough luck.
I walk every day as much as I can. Still can't do over 30 min. So I try to walk 2 times a day.
Constipated. Nothing really works. My hemorroids got inflamed because of that. Not fun.
My clothes feel a bit looser, but that's about it.
