Houston, We Have Restriction!!

OK, I'm about 5-1/2 weeks out, cleared officially for anything, but I've still been eating very wet, soft-ish foods, ground meats, mostly fish.  Today I brought a 2.4-ounce piece of tuna for lunch that I saved from last night's dinner.  I ate it cold, which meant it was the densest thing I've eaten since surgery.  OMG!!  I ate small bites, and realized midway through that I wasn't going to be able to fini****  I ate a little under 2 ounces. I'm fine, not uncomfortable, but so amazed!!  Usually I eat 2 or 2-1/2 ounces of low-fat tuna salad, or whizzed up chicken salad, or chili and trust that it's enough.  My goodness, I know it now!   I think when I "graduate" to other dense protein, I'll definitely stay on the 1.5 ounce side of the scale.  Yippee!!  I was afraid I was the one person that wouldn't have restriction.

Lol, I've had that fear too, but I think when you start the denser food you really feel it.  I've stuck mostly with softer stuff too, though I have found that dark meat chicken is just about as soft as fish or meatballs or the like.

Good to know.  I have only had shredded chicken in soup so far - or whizzed up in a salad.  Kinda fear the chicken...

Interested in knowing tomorrow when I start my puree foods. They say to start off with 2 tbsps but not sure if that will give me satisfaction or not but will follow that amount the first few tries just to see since I still need to get in a couple of protein drinks and then all that lovely water. My protein drinks are made with milk, I just can't tolerate the taste when I use water, so they are 25g and milk is 9 so two of those should get me over the 60 g of protein.

I have a picture of my old stomach that they removed and I tried to visualize how many ounces would that old tummy be able to hold lol Stupid things I do when looking at pictures.

I was not hungry for the first two weeks (on liquids) but started when I graduated to purees.  2 tbsps doesn't sound like much, but it is 1 fluid ounce.  And that's a good start.

Ok, just tied it and I like the lemon tea quite a bit! I mixed it with more water then they said and threw a "to go" stick of crystal light tea in it and it's pretty good. I can see myself using these quite a bit! Thank you again for giving me the chance to try them before buying them!
