Regimen for easy "going"? (possibly TMI)

I'm hoping you guys can help me out!

I have been taking Colace to help make things a little easier when going, but I don't think it's doing much. Milk of Magnesia works really well, but it doesn't seem like a good idea to take that regularly. Is there anything that works well and is safe to use regularly?

Miralax. Can safely be taken daily, or a few times a week, whatever you need. I use only about 1/3 of the recommended dosage, 2-3 times a week.
It's better to be hated for who you are than loved for who you're not.

I had terrible constipation (it was a problem for me even before surgery so I was expecting this). Here's my regimen:

2 Colace (or generic thereof) in the morning
10 g or more of fiber supplement during the day
500 mg of magnesium (pills) every night

And every morning I get a "result".

Highest weight: 335 lbs, BMI 50.9
Pre-op weight: 319 lbs, BMI 48.5
Current range: 140-144, BMI 21.3 - 22

175+ lbs lost, maintaining since February 2012

Another miralax fan here. I use it daily. At first I did recommended dose, but now I'm down to 1/2 the recommended dose (1/2 cap).

I love that it mixes into whatever I'm drinking with no grit or taste (I'm so over taking pills!) LOL

"works" like a charm!

I have a tablespoon of generic sugar free Benefiber in my protein drink and 2 or 3 colace daily.  2 colace wasn't enough and 3 is too much, so I alternate 2 one day, and 3 the next.  Works great.
