How much fiber is enough?

You know, to make everything come out ok?

I hear 25 grams daily but is that for normal diet folks?  What about those of us in the weight loss phase at 650 to 800 calories, do we really need 25grams?  10 to 15 seems to do it for me?

I was going up to 20g per day for a long time, but my weight loss was coming off too slow for my liking.  So I had to lower it and not eat more than 60g total carbs per day.  I did the fiber chewies and it still never seemed to be enough.  I really don't know how to answer this.

I have to take Senna to help keep things moving.  I know lots won't think this is a good thing, but neither is allowing pounds of poo to build up!  :)  Good luck to you!

This is the only time in my life I've been glad to have a bowel disorder, LOL! I have ulcerative colitis and it would take an act of God to constipate me! I don't do any fiber supplementation and it's so weird to check my food tracker and see little to no fiber for the entire day. I'm starting to add back in some carbs, though, to see where my tolerance is, so that will also bring some fiber into the mix.

I am not sure how many grams per day I eat. But I make it a point to have a 3/4 cup of raisin brand cereal each day because I has having such issues of constipation. I don't believe that there is a general answer.

You are right it's about 25 grams per day.  It's like that's all your eating.  Everything seems to have 3 - 4 grams in it.  I keep hearing prunes are good, but when I look at those only 3 grams for 5 prunes. Oh well, gotta run, good luck.

14 grams per 1000 calories.  So, if you're eating around 800 calories, I'd say around 12 grams is enough.
