My surgeon does not really have an after plan that you have to follow once you are six weeks out, so I am sticking to what I see works around here.

600-800 calories
under 40 carbs (I must admit this is hard)
64 to 100 ozs of water per day
at least 30 mins of exercise
60 to 100 grams of protein a day

The only rules I had from my surgeon are, no nuts, raw veggies, lettuce, seeds or alcohol for six months, so I am sticking to those too.

I'm glad you posted this questions b/c I think it's important for people to know that there are several ways to achieve your weight loss goal. My plan has been to track food occasionally on myfitnesspal.com (usually when I notice my loss is slowing). I try to eat protein first, and limit my simple carbs. I stick to fruit, brown rice, some whole wheat bread or crackers. I allow occasional treats for special occasions. When I'm on track, I seem to average 1000-1200 calories. Now, the biggest part of my plan (and what I attribute my success thus far to) is exercise 5-6 times a week for 1 hour. Usually 1-2 times weight training (BodyPump) and the rest cardio for 1 hour at a high intensity. If I didn't exercise as much as I do, I wouldn't need as many calories, so if I didn't exercise regularly, I would probably drop the calories a bit. However, I did this to improve my health, so exercise is necessary for my physical and mental health.

I'm finding that now that I'm trying to lose the last 10 or so pounds, I have to be much more on top of my food. I lost an average of 14-15 lbs/month for the first six months. Now is the really hard work for me.
