Okay... I'm over designer jeans, chips, chocolate cookies from Nob Hill, boots, jackets, off the shoulder sweaters, fancy panties..(cupcakes and flautas not so much) and onto a new better obsession.... Supplements!!!!
I have decided aging gracefully is a goal... as well as health, ya know?

I currently take:

A prenatal (cause is has to be better, right? Thats what all those knocked up chicks tell me)
A vit D
Biotin
Calcium
Fish Oil
Super B Complex

Im thinking of adding Vit A,E and C...

should I? What else do you take and why?
I want skin that looks less like a map in 10 years and more like a fresh of the ATM 20 dollar bill... a lil crispy, tattered? eh maybe, a tiny bit but you can still read the **** written on it!!
Humm whatcha think... and ya that living longer thing and  being healthier is kinda nice too...
Any input would make me super thrilled... and less likely to spend Friday night in bed  watching reruns of The Golden Girls all night... cause well Id be at Target buying frikken vitamins instead baby!!!

The only way you know what supplements you have to take is by getting your bloodwork done and that will show your levels and your doctor will instruct you as to what to do.

Multi Chewable
Calcium   Cause the doc told me to.
Saw Palmetto  It's a guy thing
HA Joint Formula   For my lower back and other joint aches, best stuff I have found
Colostrum       It helps with IgH hormone production, improves my joint issues as well BUT thinking of suspending this one for a while, not sure since my hair and nails love the stuff.
Fish Oil
A shot of wheatgrass juice four or five times a week.  Tastes like your lawn but man does it make me feel good and give me energy.  It is a detoxifying and anti-inflamitory agent.  Your body quickly converst the chloriphil to Hemoglobin which improves oxygen distribution to your entire body.  I love/hate the stuff.  Love what it does for me but HATE the taste.  When I was in the hospitol, the nurse was amazed at my hemoglobin levels.

When the flu or cold is in season and someone at the house has it, I do take a teaspoon of elderberry juice (sambucus) daily, since doing this, I have avoided the flu and get only 1 cold a year.  If I get a cold, I up the dose to five times a day and I can kill off the cold in 3 to 5 days.

Since surgery, I have been taking something to inhibit or convert DHT and Estrogen to testostorone.  Trying to avoid the estrogen dump due to the weight loss.

Kinda nutty but all to manager a few chronic issues, some I hope will go away as the weight drops off.

What do I take and why.  Well...

Multi - Trader Joe's chewable - because I don't eat enough food to get vites/minerals the old-fashioned way.

Calcium citrate, 1500 mg per day if I can - Liquid Reviva or BA Chewables - same reason and also cause I'm old (61) LOL!

B12 - Trader Joe's sublingual - because along with the stomach went most of my Intrinsic Factor, which B-12 needs to bind with to be absorbed in the small intestine.  So we need sublingual or shots.

Iron - VitaLady Tender Iron with Vitamin C - because I was feeling logy there for a while & thought it could be an iron deficiency,  This may go away based on my next labs.  Carbonyl iron needs an acidic environment to be absorbed well, which is why the Tender Iron comes with Vit. C.

Fish Oil - good ole Omega 3s.

D3 - 2000-3000 units a day of a gummy I found at Vitamin Shoppe, can't remember the name.  I was taking this pre-op, as my PCP told me I was deficient a couple years ago.  Most Americans are.

Celebrate Chewable Mulit Complete with Iron (even in pregnancy, my high risk ob did a little digging/researching and decided the formulation on them was better than pre-natals so I have beeen able to stay on them YAY, no funky iron taste or burp that pre-natals gave me)

Celebrate Calcium Citrate 500 Plus

Sublingual B12 2500mcg (daily in the pregnancy, 2-4 times per week when not knocked up)

I haven't had surgery yet but alot of the ppl in my support group use those same Celebrate vitamins posted above...if you go to their website they have a "builder" that will tell you what you need based on the type of surgery you had.

It's pretty cool
