2 Month Surgiversary!!!

Well it's been 2 months since my surgery.  Time is flying.  I stepped on the scale today and I have lost 51.2 lbs. since the 1 week pre-op diet.  I don't see a difference at all in me.  I wear the same clothes and they don't feel different.  I feel pretty tired all the time.  When I was first out of surgery besides the pain my energy was more now it has slumped.  I do have I guess my first NSV.  I was sitting outside yesterday waiting for daughter to come home from school and I decided to rake the leaves in the yard.  Never have I wanted to or thought of doing it so something must be working, plus it was a workout lol   I still need to take my measurements.  I have pics but I can't post online yet but I promise they are coming.  I have to go to store and buy a usb card reader so I can upload my pics for all to see.  I started taking protonix.  The dr. got me a script for Nexium but there's a prior authorization with insurance and I already had protonix.  I asked pharmasist what the diff was and she said preference so hopefully that helps with the tummy issues.  I wanna stay as far away from my surgeon as possible after the other day.  Hopefully when I see him in January I will of hit the century club and then he can kiss my smaller ass lol.  All in all it's going good, just can't wait till I can actually see a difference in a mirror.  Self perception is a ***** lol  Kerry

Hi Kerry,

Congrats to you. 51 pounds in two months is awesome. I remember the rought ime you were having in the hospital. I'm glad all is well and you are losing. At this rate you will be part of the century club in no time. Keep your head up, and keep up the great work!

You're doing great - congrats and keep it up!  And, don't worry....I'm down nearly 100lbs and I still have a hard time "seeing" it when I look in the mirror.  Everyone else notices it but I still see just me. Odd.

Congrats and 51 lbs is AWESOME in two months! I pray that things get better w/your tummy issues and energy. Have you tried taking a B Complex pill? That gives me some extra energy but talk to you doctor about why your energy is less now than soon after surgery.

Thank you.  Hopefully the swallow test shows something but here's a ??? which I guess I can post as a separate thread too.  I started taking my protonix today can that affect/effect I never know which one to use lol the outcome of the test say for reflux???  Oh and my surgeon said that it's normal for your energy to be good out of surgery then go way down at 6 weeks out although I'm 8 weeks.  He said exercise and moving will bring my energy level up which I do exercise (not as consistant as I should) but a few times a week and it doesn't seem to help.   My b12 was low before surgery and I was on a b-complex.  Now I'm just on b-12, maybe I should add the b-complex back in and see if it helps.  Thanks, Kerry

Isn't that just crazy?!! (Now you know I would love to use that as an excuse for not exercising! My darn dr's office is too organized so the three trips w/the personal trainer don't allow me to do that. She killed me yesterday but it's okay. I didn't feel tired or dizzy until the end and that was about 45 mins or so later.)

I was on B-complex before surgery and slowly added it back on week 3-4. I really had the need for it! Before the workout I also added a magnesium which my dr suggested. Maybe that might help if your dr thinks it's okay.

Reflux test. Did he put you on a PPI? I was prescribed one pepcid x2 a day after surgery for the first three months. I never had reflux before and it is not that bad now but I definitely feel when it's time for me to take it now!

But at the amount of weight we have loss so early on, it is so worth these minor struggles. I can't wait until 6 or 12 months from now!

Best of luck,
