And, after surgery, you'll be able to have wonderful foods someday! For me, right now, nothing beats 2 ounces of scallops and a 1/4 cup of pomegranate... delicious!!

Hopefully, like a whole bunch of us, post op you'll feel a little sick to your stomach seeing the absolute grossness of food commercials! FOOD PORN! Food train wreck!! Later, when your tummy heals, you can actually eat some denser foods, you'll be making better choices and when and if the urge to taste something decadent again happens (and it probably will) you might even have the luck of it not tasting quite as awesome as you remembered....and you'd rather fill your tummy with GOOD choices so you can continue to lose weight.
Because you CAN see the light at the end of the tunnel, it's so much more rewarding that you can possibly imagine right now--it really IS like a miracle that you actually see such quick results that it drives you to keep on the wagon and keep on working your sleeve to its fullest potential. A month from surgery you'll wonder what the big fuss about liquids was--not pleasant to have to stick to it, but certainly NOT the biggest problem in the world.
I tried to think of things that were TRULY horrible in my life or what I witnessed in the world around me at the time, and trust me, having to drink liquids for 10-14 days was NOT the end of the world. It's all in your perspective.
YOU CAN DO THIS!
1) I thought of it as a vacation from food -- you know, the constant battle of "I SHOULDN'T eat this;" "I SHOULD eat that." I was so completely worn out with that inner battle that to be free of it for a week or two was absolute peace.
2) I never let myself get hungry. Any time I felt a little hunger pang, I slugged down something else -- a protein shake, some broth, some cream soup, some Crystal Light, tea, water, etc etc. Of course I sloshed, heh heh, and just about peed myself to death, but it worked.
Those two things made it pretty easy to get through that week or two ... and also prepared me for the weeks of liquids post-op. You can do it! Best wishes :-)
