Any graveyard shift sleevers out there?
Just curious about how do the graveyard shift workers keep themselves on a schedule since they work at night, I seem to have a hard time with a schedule since I have started back to work. Also I am feeling discouraged about my actual weight loss. I think that I may either have to stop weighing myself because I find that I may weigh myself before the week is up. I am exercising and I am trying to get my protein in. I emailed my NUT and she says I am on track but I am afraid that I will not be at 270 by my next dr appt on NOV 9th. It seems as if I am losing inches rather than pounds! UGH!

I had my surgery 3 days before you and right now the scale is not moving. When that happened the first time I spoke with my surgeon and he stated you are losing inches which is still losing. He said no worries and just follow the program. I need to be more diligent with exercising. No worries! We didn't gain this weight in 3 months so we shouldn't expect it to come off that fast.
I've never worked graveyard, but have a husband in healthcare who did work 3rd for quite a while. He hasn't had surgery, but I found he did lose weight when he was on 3rd...here was his schedule on most days
wake-up between 4 and 5pm
dinner with me around 6p
work at 11p
he'd have another meal during his break around 3am
off work at 7
gym
home - breakfast around 9
bed by 10ish
He found it hard to always get to the gym after his shift, but it was either that or leave early for work and hit it before (but the gym closes at 9, leaving a bunch of time to spare)
Good luck in trying to find what's right for you. A lot of docs suggest a couple of snacks along the way too, so hopefully the adjustment won't be too painful

im a nightshift rn. surgery was 9/20, but im not scheduled to return until 11/4. before surgery i only had a snack if i really got hungry, and will continue with that. i guess i dont follow the "conventional" nightshift routine because only 2 of my 4 boys are school age so sleeping when i get home is out of the question (dont worry, my mil will be here soon from kenya to help:). i plan to do breakfast, lunch, and dinner at regular intervals with the family.
I worked night shift for about 2 years and was on a diet for 1 solid year I went in southbeach lost 80lbs.. the thing that helped me the most was that I was one of the only people there on my shift surveillance is not a diet friendly shift but it can be if u make it that way.. so would bring a protein like a steak or pork chop or some browned hamburger meat and a snack I loved to buy a block of sharp cheddar and cut it into slices and eat it with grape tomatoes I would bring alot when I first started to make sure that's all I ate that night... I also brought dumbells to work and lefted all night... but of course my routine changed and I move to the city got a new job and gained the weight back but now I'm 3wks away from surgery down 40lbs almost back to my south beach weight and I'm excited... I also would get up at 5 or 6pm and walk till 8 or so and be at work at 10pm.... good LUCK!!!!!
I work swing/grave......so 3 nights I work 3:30-12pm and then two nights I work 11pm -7:30am.
However I am not sleeved yet but I will be able to bring shakes and small snacks with me to work.
On the graveyard nights I usually eat dinner before I go to work (generally around 8:30-9pm), have a snack around 2 and then if still hungry another snack around 5-6am. Get off at 7:30, home at 8, errands/chores till 10-11am, and then sleep 11-7 or so.
I'll have to revaluate after the sleeve about what is best.
