Shirataki Tofu Noodles - Spaghetti!!!
Seriously just saw these on Dr. show. They said they have 0 cal, 0 fat and 0 carb. I am def gonna try these yeahhh. Said can be found at Asian food stores and such I just did a search and apparently my local Harris Teeter has them so gonna check em out. Oh and on the Harris teeter website it said a bag was 1.50 Kerry
Wow really, yeah I guess noodles tasting like fish would be pretty gross. I might try them anyways just tosee. I know it says wash them really really good and hubby is good with spices and sauces and such so hopefully they will be delicious in end. If not lesson learned and I out $1.50 lol Thanks, Kerry
I have tried them and they were an interesting texture not to much taste, you really gotta add stuff to it to get any flavor, but if those don't work for you I saw on Dr. Oz show a pasta made from Jerusalem Artichoke Flour... by DeBoles.. they say it tastes EXACTLY like pasta..

They were OK......lets just say....
Zero Zero and Zero = Zero
I tried it with a marinara sauce.......tasted like rubber bands in spaghetti sauce.....
Started adding more and parmigiana till it was about 50-50 parmigiana.....than it was ok.....
You would be much better off trying julienned zucchini or squash in my opinion.....

yeah...I'd tried them before, some companies sell them under the name Miracle Noodles - they were filling when I was on another diet and looking for a filler - homemade chicken soup over the noodles was really good, but with this smaller stomach I will go for taste...but keep us posted on what you think about them!
I like them pretty well - best, in my opinion in stir fries, Vietnamese noodle salad and other Asian dishes. Their texture, in my opinion, is closest to rice noodles or cellaphane noodles.
The only issue I have with them, is other than the fact that they are pretty much 100% beneficial fibre, they don't contribute much that is worthwhile to my diet - so no harm/no foul. My problem is that they are filling, and make it difficult for me to get in the protein I need if the noodles are part of the meal.
On the other hand, I find them useful when I am having irrational cravings ...shiritaki + some well seasoned chicken broth is a pretty much guilt free snack.
