I don't think that I've heard of people getting food stuck that didn't have a kink in their sleeve, and I only remember one of those. It's not a common complaint for sleevers.

food does not get stuck with the sleeve as it does with the band, from what i hear.

when all is said and done you should have normal stomach function, just a smaller stomach. you will eventually (once you are healed) be able to eat protein, veggies, and almost all foods without discomfort or vomiting.

from what i hear it is quite refreshingly different from life with the band.

im sure you will like the changes.

First - no, food doesn't get stuck with the sleeve.  You do need to take small bites and eat slowly - you get full quickly and it can sneak up on you if you are taking big bites or eating quickly (very uncomfortable!!!)

I had to do a 2 week liquid diet which consisted of a protein shake every 3 -4 hours, plenty of water and as many sf popsycles/jellos as I wanted.  I had no complications and the 2 week pre-op diet was for me the hardest part!  (A burger commercial brought me to tears! LOL)

No cons for me!

I do eat healthier - I aim for lean protein and eat the protein first, then I eat vegetables and have carbs with two meals and fruit with 2 meals.

The portions are much smaller - I usually can eat 3 oz of meat, then a little of the other stuff - but not much!  I really love the control that the sleeve gives me!

Good luck!
