I'm 10 months out and down to my last 40 lbs. Woudl love to hear how others managed to continue loosing weight to get to goal. How long did the last 40 lbs take and did you have to do anything differently? I just broke a 6 week stall, and am down 87 lbs since Jan 18.  I seem to be loosing at a snails pace now!

I will be one year out tomorrow and I'm still losing.  I have just a little to go before hitting goal, but the pace has remained fairly steady throughout the process.  I'm just as motivated today as I was a year ago.  I still log everything I eat into fatsecret, weigh everything that goes in my mouth, keep my calories at approximately 800 per day, exercise regularly, keep my protein over 60 (usually 80-100 - gotta drink one shake a day to keep it that high) and basically just do what the doc told me to do.  I choose not to add things in that do not help me lose until I actually get to the maintenance phase.  I will eventually get there and then I'll have to figure out what that's like and live it for the rest of my life.  This is a permanent change in my physiology and needs to be a permanent lifestyle change as well.  Don't let the crap creep into your diet.  If you keep doing what you're supposed to, the weight will drop off.  Good luck on those last damned 40...You can do this!

You must permanently change your lifestyle if you want your weight loss to be permanent. You can do it!

I've been in the same place and am trying to fine tune my diet and up my activitiy to get the last 20-50 (not sure where it will seem wise to stop yet) lbs off.

I'm focusing on:

more protein
more water
more exercise
no sugar or processed carbs (or very very little)

I havent had big progress yet, but I'm still just really starting this. I'm also making myself come here more and be more accountable.

Trying again - my last post got cut off in the middle and editing it did me no good:

I'm not there yet, I'm with you on the journey. I have lost about 20 of those last 40 lbs and what is working for me so far is exactly what worked the first 100 lbs: 600-800 calories, 80+ grams of protein, less than 40 grams of carbs, 64 plus oz of fluids, exercise and logging everything I eat.

Good luck!

Thanks so much for posting! I just realized how far I am off track, from the basics. This was an eye opener for me, and posting here was just the fix I needed. I'm also going back to running and some free weights which I've stoped the past few months. The sleeve is such a gift it's easy to forget I still have to work it!

I'm 5lbs from my Surgeon's office goal (normal BMI) and 20lbs from my personal goal  -- BMI of 22.   My weighloss slowed down, some, starting last month but I can't complain. I'm still losing 6-7lbs a month.  I am eating the same, now that I did at 3 months post-op.

2.5oz of protien, 1.5oz (if I can) of fibrous veggie 3-4x daily.

Calories: 600-800
Carbs: 20-30
Protein: 70-80g/day

I use 1/2 scoop of Isopure dutch chocolate protein powder in coffee a couple of times a day to bump my protein.  I also drink 80-100oz of fluid a day, and I exercise regularly.  My general goal is cardio 5x weekly, strength 2x weekly with a trainer, 1x by myself.

I'm trying to do more 'activity' than gym time, now. I was very active and outdoorsy in my teens and 20s, and I'm working to get back to that given I live in Florida.  Yesterday. I did a 20 mile bike ride on the Van Fleet State Trail which is not far from my house, and I hardly broke a sweat at 15 15-20mph the whole way.

Carolyn you are doing fantastic!! Way to go!! This is very inspiring for me. I got off track during my buszy wedding season - I'm a photographer, and just finishing the last of my weddings now. Definatly time to get back on track and you've set a pretty high standard to follow. Just the kick in the pants I needed today!! Thanks .. I think i'll go fill my water bottle
