NSV - typical clothing size story, blah blah blah
So I got up early to take advantage of BLACK FRIDAY like a good American consumer drone is supposed to. Like many of you, I'm in need of clothing that doesn't appear tent-like on my shrinking frame.
I went to yee store and tried on, oh, everything, and convinced myself that almost none of it looked good on me. Everything was too baggy, or too tight! But I found a few shirts of "the porrage was just right" and bought them. I was pumped that they were not 2XL, or XL, but larges!
I brought them home and showed them to my fiance/husband/life partner/guy who tolerate me, and he actually thought I needed to return one... to get a medium.
A medium?
Sure, one brand's medium is another brand's large, or even extra-large.... but I don't think my brain was ever prepared to accept that I could ever wear a piece of clothing with an "M" on the tag.
Still having trouble with that one.

Yes..... Vanity sizing exists in men's clothing also.......
My new stuff can range from small to large......I actually like XL 100% Cotton Tee Shirts even though I could wear a Large.
Some European and Japanese clothes in XL

GIRL!!! I've been in size 8 for the past month and half...but been living in one pair of jeans for couple of months. Well....I needed another pair so I picked size 6....ummm...what??,....baggy not to mention got them on way too quick. Then I walked out to pull on a size 4...LMAO....yea right like these will fit. .........OMG!! I had my first REAL NSV.....never...never fitting into size 4!!!!! What happened to size 6?? WOW.....
So trying to program our brain around something that is moving faster than we can totally receive is crazy!! STILL....I cannot grasp it.
I finally accepted the fact that I need some counseling to see how I can cope with the change cause I still keep my picture up on my screensaver where I started. My fiancee thinks its sick...but I still need to be reminded why I started this journey and the memory of why I'm here to keep me at check. Ya know??
Embrace the change girl!!! I'm still trying...

Great story! A couple months ago a friend and I went to a Cabi party - clothing sold at home parties. As I was trying on various things, she told me I had a really great shape now, and need to buy things that FIT! I laughed, because I thought I HAD been wearing clothes that fit.
Another story - In June I went on a Mediterranean cruise, had a ball. But I didn't like ANY of the pictures I was in, and it took a while to realize, it was because my clothes were too baggy! I thought I was buying things that fit and looked good. Yeah, not so much.....
I tell ya, this is such an amazing journey, and learning how to buy clothes that fit is a biggie, pun intended!
