Frisco-Curry Drumettes-Fried (stay away if fried not good)

Was trying to re-create my fav Wing Flavor at my go to eatery in Tokyo called Yamachan's....

Fried, with a slight curry and heat taste to it.....

These came out good.....but I wasn't even close.....guess I gotta leave em in Tokyo......

Used Curry powder, paprika, chili powder, garlic powder S&P in a Tempura Flour.......

My god son, who has had them in Tokyo with me says I shoulda added cumin......

This spice thing is very difficult....but challenging and fun at the same time.....

Yum!

I love to cook and bake... but find flavors the hardest.  Sometimes I overdo them, sometimes underdo them.  And it's very hard to match flavors without some sort of recipe.  For me anyway.

These look delish!

I need to create a folder just for your food pics & ideas..

I tried making chicken kaarage once, came close.. but didn't quite nail the orange infused flavor of our fav Japanese place.. so... if you happen to have a great recipe...?

Hey Frisco, they look delicious!!! Fried chicken is one of my favorite foods. When you fry your chicken, what type of oil do you fry it in? Also, are you a chef?? Your food is always so beautifully plated!!!

Thanks Rich and all for the props......

A couple of things.......

- They say you eat with your eyes first...... Any eating we can do without our stomachs is a good thing.....

- Don't think I eat like this all the time..... I normally eat out of paper plates and plastic forks..... I'm not into clean up !!!!

I've been known to eat tuna fish out of a can...... or eat over the sink......

- One great thing thing about small plate food prep......is that you can experiment.....if you mess up your only throwing away a small amount. Like these drumettes.... I bought a pack of 6 for like $2.50

I was trying to get the flavor.... so I did the first couple one at a time and adjusted the spice. Nothing was un-edible..... but being set up for small amounts lets you play with flavor....

Also we tend to buy food in larger quantities than we need....so you either need to freeze stuff before or after cooking.
