Are people really this self righteous...
Why can't everyone's opinion be just that: an opinion. There is nothing said on here that should be taken as medical advice or as if it's quoted from the bible. I was enjoying this experience but I think I'm going to need a break from OH and the know-it-alls. How many of the people posting are Bariatric surgeons or are speaking from a place other than of experience...duh...we all are only posting opinion from our personal experience or HEARSAY. Granted, experience is valuable yet we all don't have the same one. So for God's sake unless you got the holy grail ON wls come down off your horse.
PS> You're only upset because this applies to you.
I agree with you 100%!!!!
On another note....please dont take a break from me.. I need to hear your encouragement and experiences. I love you guys like I known you since way back when (lol) but for real dont let those who want to be ignorant about comments stop you all for being there for us newbies!!!!

The vets here have been around along time and have a lot of experience and I know I have benefited greatly from their advise. They don't pretend to be Doctors, in fact a lot of them will tell you that you need to talk to your doctor if you are having problems. I like the fact that they talk straight and don't give you any BS. They are just giving you their opinions. Nobody is forced to follow them.
Old Nellie decided to pull up and let me hop on her. While some peoples "opinions" are STRONG it's just an opinion as you say even if it DOES sound like they are quoting the bible...John the Baptist once told me...oh who cares what he told me, it's just hearsay after all. Damn I got off course.
Oh yeah the problem is that some people are sensitive and some people lack tack, but all in all I personally could care less but I have a strong mind, extreme spirit and really unless your God or cut my check every 2 weeks I gives ****
Damn lost track again.
Oh yeah TAKE what you need and less the rest to rot in someones compose heap =)

I've been browsing here for a while but I just recently joined and when I did, I browsed some of the other surgery forums and I saw some pretty crazy people *****ALLY were one some know-it-all type **** to the extreme. It was to the point that I spoke on it and, of course, they went off but I didn't care.
Anyway, for the most part, I really enjoy coming to the VSG board because everyone seems welcoming and insightful and nonjudgmental. I've seen a few little things but 1 was from someone that wasn't even a VSGer, another situation was understandable and another I feel just got out of hand for no reason. We're human, it happens.... but for the most part, I think it's pretty respectful here compared to some other forums I've seen.
I enjoy reading differing opinions and experiences because it's more real than some fairy tale. I like hearing what one dr/patient did that was successful and what another set did even if they are completely opposite things. As a preop it can be confusing, but it's good to know.
I look forward to continuing to hearing everyone's experiences and receiving guidance through my journey, especially since I'm only 11 days away!

shwag5150 - l so agree. l've looked on the other forums & can't believe how righteous they are. They don't even TRY to be understanding or compassionate most of the time. ...
Anyway, l just wanted to say GOOD LUCK on your upcoming surgery! l wish you a non-eventful & quick recovery. l'm one of those that had one - nothing but gas pain, up and around really quickly with no pain. l don't feel like l had anything done until l go to eat. Best thing l EVER did for myself (well, besides having my kids, you know;))
