I am in the hospital after the gastroscopy and guess what? Gastritis and a small ulcer just beside the pylorus. So.... No surgery in January. Have to have it treated first and checked again and then we can start planning. Well it is going to be in April then. Not the end of the world!

I'm so so sorry, and I know you are disappointed but your attitude is positive and you KNOW this will get done.  Besides you want to be at the best health you can be going into this,  Keep us posted as to how the healing is going.

Blessings,
Jeanne

OH NO!

Good attitude though....its not the end of the world.  Still off the cigarettes?  Hopefully you are....did the doc say if they could have been the cause of the ulcer?  Keep up the good work and you will be rewarded!

No, I saw him for a couple of minutes after only so we didn't get into causes. Yeah still off the cigs. So I have 4 mnths ahead of me and a ton of protein and vites. Maybe I should do the post op diet anyway? Join a gym, heal my invisible and asymptomatic ulcer, stay off cigs ... Maybe I can pretend I had surgery?

I am sorry your surgery is postponed. But this does give you more time. Doing a higher protein/lower carb/more exercise/no smoking life will do you only good. Great attitude!

So sorry to read this as I knew you were getting very excited to be sleeved next month! I am, however, glad your doctor discovered these issues and you are able to correct them now. It is a big disappointment though, but I you're right, you can still sort of pretend you had the sleeve done and just continue with the high protein and vitamins. I

I also had a small ulcer prior to my surgery, but it did not push back the date as I had a 6-month waiting period anyway. You can use these next few months to get yourself in the best shape possible for surgery and I think your body will thank you for that afterwards! We're here for you!!
