I seen someone post that they used pork rinds to coat meat. Do you bake it after that or how do you prepare it.  Also I know they are high in protein but are they allowed as a snack? Sometimes a little crunch would be great.

i am still preop and eat them. i would imagine that if you were healed. so several months post op that pork rinds would be fine. immediately after surgery, once you can have normal foods, i would be worried that the little flakes could get stuck, not sure if thats possible. but overall i think they should be fine.

I don't know about cooking them, but they're fine as a snack - in moderation.  They're high in calories and fat, but they certainly do satisfy the need for something crunchy and salty.

Do NOT count the protein in pork rinds towards your protein goals.  Pork rinds are fried pig skin = collagen.  Although collagen is protein, it's not a complete protein and can't be used by our systems.  So look on them as a sometimes snack, but no nutritional value.

The sodium count is really high on these I believe.......
