are you as cold as I am all the time?!?

Over the last month or so, I have found that I am constantly *freezing*.  It's nice not being a sweaty mess all the time, but it's been a battle to stay warm!

I was checking email this morning, and the Woot! of the day is an electric blanket throw.  I'm going to give this a try.  For less than $20, I'm hoping it helps :)

Stay warm everyone!

Have you had your vitamin D and iron levels checked, that used to happen to me. I take supplements for both and not having the chills as much.

I've got another week or so until my follow-up with my surgeon, and he's got me doing several tests at that time. That said, I've never had an issue with either D or iron, and have been taking my vites religiously. I think my body is just adjusting to having a *whole* lot less insulation! Will be sure to check these levels with him next week, though, just in case! Thanks

Indeed it is! It has only been in the past couple of weeks that my body temperature has returned to normal. I don't know if this is permanent or not, but I have noticed that most of my friends that have had gastric bypass suffer from the same issue. I guess it's just one of the things that goes along w/ WLS.

Me too!  I was also always so hot (not in the fun way)  I think its great, I now want to snuggle with the husband and love the blankets on the bed and I am thinking about putting the electric mattress pad warmer back on.  I hope your electric blanket will serve you well.

Blessings,
Jeanne

Oh YES I am always cold! I wear a sweater or sweat jacket of some sort all the time. Now granted I live in MN and it is cold here - (actually we are having a really mild winter - no snow and 40 degrees yesterday).

We have lost lots of out insulation (body fat) and are low carbin - and have less sugar fuel to burn. Bundle up and enjoy! The heating blanket is a great idea - I have one on my bed every nite turned on to 3 or 4. Cozy warm!

I'm always freezing.  I was never a hot sweaty mess prior to surgery but never this cold either.  My levels are all fine but I do have low blood pressure which I'm sure contributes to me being this cold, this often!  Bundle up!

I am not significantly colder, just a little colder than normal.  Of course, I attribute most of that to my thyroidectomy.  I only have 98.6 if I am running a fever. I find myself fixing a lot more hot drinks in order to try to stay warm.  And I always turn on the electric blanket to prewarm the bed before I get in.  Usually don't sleep with it on all night unless it is freezing out.
I agree that a lot of it has to do with the type of fuel we are putting into our bodies now.  We are just cooler running machines now.

Yes, I seem to always be cold and I have to admit.....I enjoy it far more than being hot and sweaty!
Best wishes!
