A lil less than two weeks out and I feel little to no restrictions on liquids
I'm just sort of low key freaking out. I'm thinking maybe I'm the exception to a rule or something. But from day one I haven't had any major problems getting liquids in. I did take it very slow the first week especailly with my protein drink which took longer to get down. But now almost two weeks out, I feel no restriction on liquids. I had some cream of chicken soup (strained and a bi****ered down) and was able to eat about 8 oz of it in an hour, I stopped myself because I know I could've eaten more. The strained soup was probably the thickest thing I've had since my surgery and still I didn't feel that full feeling. My surgeon uses a 32 f bougie, which is really tiny, so I assumed I'd have more issues with getting all my liquids in.
I get more than 64 oz a day in of fluids and more like 70-80z. I don't guzzle but I don't sip sip anymore either, I just take a regular drink. I haven't moved to the pureed stage yet, but I'm a lil freaked out that I may not feel any restriction on that either. I hope someone can share if they felt any restriction on liquids during this time.

You won't feel any restriction with liquids, they go in and drain out. you will feel some restriction with puree and soft foods but dense protein is when you will really feel it. so no worries. Be happy you can get liquids in, you won't get dehydrated. I was getting in 120 oz at your stage and really happy for it. My surgeon was happy too. Good luck.
i am 6 weeks out. On puree and dabble a bit in dense protein. Still haven't felt restriction and am hungry almost all the time. Ony time I am not hungry is the hour right after I eat.
Hoping it will get better but have gotten to the point of acceptance. I found 3.5 to 4 ounces is wat gets me past hungry. I weigh my food and that's it.
I promise you will find your agic plan. It will take a couple more weeks of patience

I'm just over 3 weeks out. I was similar to you. No restrictive feelings on clears. I could get all my liquids in the first day after the Upper GI and they let me drink. IT took all day, but I could do it - easy! Full liquids the same. Easy peasy getting it all in! I always limited myself to a half cup, but honestly, I could have eaten more, but my plan says never more than a 1/2 cup per meal in the full liquid stage so I never did.
I transitioned to softs this week. Oh, now I feel restriction. Boy do I feel it! 1 to 1 1/2 oz of wet sliced turkey lunch meat and I am FULL! It's a different kind of full feeling, but you will know it. Eat very slowly and you can just tell when you're close to the limit. There is a signal that says in no uncertain terms, "STOP EATING - NO MORE".

Be grateful you aren't having a problem getting fluids in, that's awesome! When you get to solids, be sure to take it slowly. It's amazing how little fills you up. Start with an ounce or two and be sure to chew very thoroughly and take time between bites. It's very painful when you eat too much too fast. It took hours for the discomfort to go away for me.

It was explained to me the other day at the doctors early out basically the first week or so the restriction with fluids is because your stomach is still really swollen
I am right there with you Roobi. Last night the 6 ouunce chicken soup took less than 20 minutes for me. I can drink 12 ounces of decaf before it gets cold. If I do a regular shake down it goes. This morning I added an extra scoop of protein- now that I am having to take my time with. Last night, 5 ounces of yogurt, although full for a long time afterward. I was just lamenting with my husband this morning that maybe my stomach size is too big, but then I know I really won't feel the restrictiion until I can get some meat in me. :) Try not to stress, just stay on plan and it will all work out.
