6 Month update with pics
It will be 6 months since I had surgery on January 7th. It is been a bumpy road to say the least. I still struggle with body image issues, I leave more room than I need to when I walk around things and I pick up 3x tshirts when I go shopping. I work with a psychologist every week to try and get my brain straight and realize that this is reality. I still have another 70-80 pounds that I would like to lose. The doctors have put my goal weight at 180 - when I get there, I will self adjust and see where I would like to be.
I had my 6 month check up last week - My pre surgery weight was 359, my 6 month checkup weight was 258, 101 pounds lost in slightly under 6 months. All bloodwork came back normal, except vitamin C which apparently was 0 but I think they left it out because my multivitamin has vit.C in it and all other levels associated with the multivitamin were okay.
This surgery is the best thing that I have ever done for myself. I am not shy about it, and when people ask how I am losing the weight, I tell them that I had WLS. In my eyes, it is nothing to be ashamed about - you still have to work at losing the weight and pay attention to everything you put into your mouth, this tool just makes it easier. I would encourage anyone thinking of having the sleeve, to do it as soon as you are able. I am blessed that I able to realize that I had a problem with food, and take care of it while my health was "good" instead of 10 years down the line when I had health issues related to my weight. The support from this website, my family, friends and doctors team has been extraordinarily beneficial to me - and I cannot thank you all enough.
Happy losing!

The fact that I have a neck makes me want to cry, I am so excited that I can wear cute scarves!
