Posted about my struggles and now just an update!

I am officially back down to my pre-Christmas weight! 140 lbs lost. I struggled hard as I posted before, and it literally took everything I had to get back on track. I didn't log my food for a few days because it was causing me to stress out so much that I was tempted to "sneak eat", but I stuck to plan and ate things I knew where safe.

My husband helped me to purge the house of everything triggery (is that a word? If it isn't, it totally should be LOL), he took a ton of stuff to work to share with co-workers and the rest we dumped.

I got new running shoes and I am back to training (was only making a half hearted attempt while trying to get my eating under control) and that has helped tremendously. My sons have started running with me and plan to register for the 5k I am doing in April, I am so excited for them and proud of them, the fact that they want to do it with me just floors me. They are awesome kids.

I honestly think the best thing for me was to share my slip with you guys, it made me be honest with myself and it kept me from saying "oh well, had a bad day lets make it a bad week!" and so on, it brought me back to an even keel much faster then anything else could have. So thank you for being my support and part of my backbone, I will try to do the same for you guys too!

So here is to a good start to the new year!

Great job!!! Getting back on track in the past is always what has sidetracked me.
Did you ever get your little one to go to sleep last night??

HA, he was up until like 1, the boy sure does love to hear his own voice! My bedroom is right next to his, so I can never fall asleep until he is quite (silly mommy brain picks up every noise!). I think we are going to work on a super early bedtime tonight LOL

That's great!
I make sure all my kids (all are older and living on their own) take the crap leftovers to their house. Cookies, cakes, pastas etc.
I keep the meat and the cheese.

When it's in front of me I want to eat it and even though I cant eat much at one time, it seems I will keep going back into the kitchen as soon as it clears my stomach, UGH!

So I can certainly relate to getting the junk out of the house.
Great Job!

Good Luck with the marathon.

Courtney, that's great and thanks for the update!!!  i definitely went to the dark side (well not completely) during the holidays -- chocolate goes down so easily.  of course i wasn't eating as much as i would have before, but i'm terrified to get on the scale.  if i gain (see, still stupidly hopeful) then it will be the first time in a year.  my surgery center had a party right before x-mas and i bravely said to my pal the program director that if i gained a couple of pounds i knew i could take them off b/c i'd be back on my usual eating patterns.  gotta believe that.  and going to weigh when i get home tonight.  a gain will definitely get me on track (i hope!).

will let you guys know.  oh, and btw, you are doing so much better than i am at exercise!!!  i'm about to start walking on my lunch hour 2 days a week with some friends at work, so i'm in awe of all you're doing.  step-by-step, i guess!!

congrats on getting back up on the horse!  (((((((((((hugs)))))))))

We completely purged the house of all things junky, I had the hubs take it into work or we threw it in the trash.

Thank you for sharing this.  I think we all stumble, and real success comes from getting back in the saddle.  It has where my downfall has been.  Thanks for the inspriation.
