Scars, that is!

What do your scars look like?  I had surgery on 11/21.  Mine are still purple-y and sort of dented in, like there is a chunk missing.  They look OK, I suppose.  One is practically non existent, teeny tiny- not sure why that one is so small.

Oh well, small price to pay... Just hoping bikinis are in my future (right!) and wondering if these babies will fade away....

They should fade but my doc told me NOT to put anything on them to make the fade for several months then to use ****o butter. Dont know why but thats what he said.

I'm amazed at how small these incision lines are! I don't know about these, but my c-section scar (3 times thru the same spot) is barely visible after 5 years - I think it took a couple years to really fade down. And if my c-section scar turned out that good, I just can't imagine these little incisions being much of anything a year or 2 from now.

The dent goes away pretty quickly, but my scars are just finally starting to fade at almost 9 months. I'm guessing it'll take another year or so.

I've had surgery before and thought the scar would never fade - it did and so will these. Don't get too much of a tan and they won't show!

Very happy with my scars. They're small (about 1/2" or less across), thin, and fading from the dark red to pinkish around the incisions. I just wish I could get the rest of the tape residue off.

To get the tape off wet paper towel with baby oil..wipe the residue with the towel. Wait about 30 min to an hour and lightly scratch the residue off with fingernail...

Really easy to come off...

Thank you, I'll run to the store for some baby oil and try that later! The soap-and-loofa method is a failure. LOL.

Revision on 02/09/12

I have basically the same scars from crap band surgery 4+ years ago. I am fair skinned though but my scars are basically invisible, even the largest one where the port is and it's a couple inches long. They all faded to white. I used mederma on them per my surgeon's recommendation, I am guessing it helped a lot because you can't see them now.

So looking forward to those getting opened back up again LOL. I guess that would be better than just adding to them. :P

Band (09/07) removed, revised to sleeve 2/9/12.
