This is a good question. My protein intake is pretty good but I am only averaging about 300-400 calories per day. But I am newly sleeved and getting most of my protein from powder added to soups and shakes.

I'm sure you body needs minimum calories/energy per day, but I also was sleeved 2weeks ago and I struggle to average 300-400 calories a day. I do feel weaker and more tired, but I don't know if low calories is all to blame. I also am struggling to get 64oz of fluid in. I do see the nutritionist this week and will ask her for help.

It will get easier once you hit purees.  I was also around 300 for the first two weeks.  600 is very comfortable right now.  It would be a lot higher if I was making poor food choices too.

I wouldn't even worry about eating too few calories right now.  Seriously.

Focus now on water and protein.  Move through all the food stages, then try to keep your calories between 600 and 800.  Soon enough you will be able to eat more, so eating too few calories probably won't be a big problem.

I am 4-1/2 months out and I try to target 700-750 calories per day.  I could definitely eat more if I wanted, but I am pretty satisfied at this point so I am not eager to push the calories up.  It is always easy to add calories, but hard (for me) to go backwards.
