I am obviously no where near this point, but I was just curious if anyone has problems with losing too much weight? My Mom who has the vertical banded gastroplasty said she thinks I will have this issue later on. She did with her surgery and at 5'8, got down to 124lbs at one point after surgery. I do not feel like I will have this issue, because I will just slowly up my carbs, which will decrease loss.......

anyway, just wondering if any of you with the sleeve that is furthur out have had this issue. I know some DS peeps do, but since we do not have the malabsorption,  I do not know.

I'm only 5 months out but I can't see that happening in the future.

I can eat whatever I want now without any issues so it's actually challenging to lose the last 20-30 lbs.
I think when I get to goal I will probably have to keep a close watch on what I eat to maintain.

I've heard others say the same thing.

I think at 2-3 years out, most folks wish this would be a problem.  That seems to be the tipping poitn where maintenance becomes about not gaining.

Hey September sister--  I was once concerned about this but at this point I don't think for me it's an issue.  I'm a slow loser, even at 1000 cal's a day and swimming 1.5 miles a week and running the eliptical the other days.

I'm good to lose at a rate of 5 lbs a month.  I sat at 198 for weeks but taking body fat analysis during that time showed I was redistributing fat to muscle so no worries.

I have read of only one or two individuals that did not have any complications from surgery and had a normal recovery  that had trouble maintaning weight.  It's very rare from what I can tell reading the boards for the last year or two.  Granted, my analysis is anicdotal.

By the way, great job so far!

At 10.5 months out, I'm lucky if I lose 3-5 pounds a month now! I'm really struggling to get the last 16 lbs. off...I wish this was a problem! :)

I've heard it mentioned here but they fall under certain categories.

1. anxious people who are not experiencing it but are worried about it in advance
2. people who arbitrarily picked a weight to stop at, but their body wasn't ready to stop.  They were not underweight; they just wanted to stop at some number that they thought they were comfortable with or looked good at.
3. someone *****ally seemed to have a problem. He also wasn't going to the doctor because of lack of insurance. The belief was that there was an underlying medical condition that wasn't getting treated because of his lack of insurance
