I was high risk and I did have a few fears of not being around for my grandchildren but other than that I was all fired up and ready to get it DONE!!!!  The fleeting fear was nothing compared to the excitment of starting a new life where food was not my life!!!!!!!

My husband is nervous but I am NOT.  I go in the morning for my surgery and will be discharged on Monday and fly back home on Tuesday.  I am SO EXCITED and HAPPY that the pre-op diet is DONE (even though I continue the liquids for 3 more weeks I am separating them into two categories so it doesn't seem as daunting, lol)!

I know I will be nervous on the operating table just before surgery and I think that's natural but I want my new life so badly that my focus is there, on the world becoming my playground and feeling free.

...and yeah, not looking forward to pain or recovery but it's a small piece to the puzzle...a VERY SMALL PIECE!

YAY us for making this decision!

I wasn't nervous at all. When they took me back to prep for surgery - put in IV, ask all those questions, talk with anestehologist, etc. there was several minutes before the surgeon got there. I went to sleep and he had to wake me up when he came in.

I wasn't nervous at all either. I had total confidence in my doctor and my choice for the VSG. I was so calm, you'd think I was a visitor, not a patient. I am so thrilled with the outcome! Good luck to you.
