Ladies, during our special time of the month, we get craving for snacks. Is it all right to eat the goldfish crackers, and sunflower seeds. Also, will I ever be able to drink a glass of wine.

I eat different kinds of nuts daily (good protein). I probably wouldn't eat the goldfish because when I do eat carbs I get out of control with my cravings and it is so hard to get back on track. As far as alcohol goes I have had a drink since surgery and I am about 7 months out. I think it depends on you and how often you do it. =)

Instead of gold fish, make some cheese crisps. I use Weigh****chers blended shredded cheese and they taste alot life the gold fish.

Avoid the carbs...could be hard to get back on track.  Slimgenics has a website of protein snacks http://www.slimgenics.com/store (thermosnacks) and their cheddar bites are good and can get you past the cravings during the time of the month.  It helps with the crunching of something too. They have a bunch of great treats with high protein (click on the item and it will give you the nutritional info.)  I am not allowed alochol for 1 year after surgery ... I love a glass of wine, but going to stick to it and enjoy a glass now and then once this weight is gone.

As far a as snacks go, read labels, track all your calories, carbs and protein and then you'll know what's right for a snack. For me, I have a couple of tablespoons of low cal peanut butter w/ 2 crackers.

And as far as wine goes, I went to a party a couple of weeks ago and had 2 glasses. It was my first drink since surgery 4 1/2 months earlier. I won't make a habit of drinking because there's way too many calories in alchohol but I will enjoy some every once in a while.
Do not ask God to guide your footsteps if you're not willing to move your feet.
