shocking but not suprising.  too bad she couldn't get it together.

wonder what happened?  OD, suicide, heart attack from body abuse.  girl looked horrible out last night, she had blood on her legs and stuff.  musta had a rough one.

Saying she "looked horrible last night" and "had blood on her legs," and you don't find that a bit distasteful when someone isn't even in the ground yet?  In a thread full of people who are sad to see her go, and have real respect for her as an artist, this just seemed out of place.  Just saying.

i don't think it's distasteful.  i was just reporting the facts as i saw them, m'am.  i'm sorry you feel that way but it's my opinion and my way of grieving and you really have no right to tell me what i should and should not say on a post because it isn't  rainbows and unicorns.  if you read it wrong that's your perception.  i was actually shocked and felt bad she couldn't have gotten help so she could still be alive.  her condition the day before she passed was quite sad, looking disheveled and having something dripping down her legs.  i found it sad and it broke my heart.  i shook my head in disbelief when i saw that, it was a pretty wasteful death.

that's all!

no words, I'm real sad felt like someone threw me a blow to my stomach.  Whitney was super, super singer - no one compares, no one!

May God bless her soul

Sad tragedy. Whitney sang like no other. People try to hit her notes but when she was in her prime her voice could make the hairs on my back rise! RIP.

I showed this to my students last year (I teach elementary school choir) and they were just amazed. RIP, Ms. Houston.

Whitney was one of the reasons I became a musician. As a child I remember buying all of her albums and sheet musc (which I still have) and singing her music everywhere. I was so inspired by a young black women who was loved by all and such great talent.

I will be forever grateful and thankful for all of the inspiration she gave me. I could have chosen to have a career and sing, but instead I chose to pay it forward and teach vocal techniques to teenagers. I can't express my deep sadness over her passing. I will never forget her. RIP Whitney and thank you for sharing your God given talent withj us all.
