The last pounds to goal

I get so fustrated some days.

I eat between 600 and 1000 calories a day
I run and weight lift all but 1 or 2 days a week

I drink water, take vitamins and try to keep the carbs below 40

Sometimes the weight comes off and sometimes like now, I go 5 days with no movement on the scale.

I'm wrapping my head around the 5 day pouch test but can't seem to get up the willpower to make it happen just yet.

I know that last pounds are the hardest, but really?
Just shoot me.

Sorry, just venting.
I'm getting up and going to the gym now (sigh)
Testing out the new fit bit

I swear to all that's holy, I'm going to win this war!

just sayin

Have you tried to do anything different like varying your meals or changing your exercise routine? I've heard that it helps because the body gets used to what we are doing.

When I was close to goal, we went on a cruise. Of course I gained a few pounds from the change in diet...once I got home the weight I had gained and the last 10 pounds just fell off and I got to goal within 2 weeks! Other than the changes in diet on the cruise, I wasn't doing anything differently. Good luck!

Here's something about the 5 day pouch test.

If you DO go on liquids to get to goal.

Then what?  Are you going to stay on liquids to stay there?

For me, a sanity saver was paying the money to have my body composition done.  Middle of "normal" BMI for my height is 135.

My MUSCLES AND BONES weigh 130 pounds.  135 is a NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN.  And even if I got there for 3 hot seconds, I would fight tooth and nail to stay there.  And, I would not have enough body fat for basic functioning.

So, you gotta do what you gotta do, but having been heavy for a while changes your bone density, lifting changes your body composition.

Its best to have an understanding of what is real and do-able and HEALTHY, z'all I am saying.

Sadly we see more and more folks who pull down amazing loss numbers, get to willowy weights and then show back up with questions about malnourishment and why are their labs in the ****ter, and they are afraid to be a HEALTHY weight because gain (even intentional) ends up equalling = FAIL to them.

I dunno..  watching people pour gasoline all over themselves and play with matches and admit it on other forums and come here and post about incredible losses while the folks call them poster children is a bit distressing, so, just be good to you is all that I am encouraging you to do.  Your good health and longevity is worth it!!

I've been on three cruises since I had my surgery...frankly it works for me. I'm going to toss that idea out to my husband.
I think I'll visit Victoria Secret for just the right "asking" outfit.

I have tried changing up my diet, less/then more.
I did 1.5 days of just clear liquids and I lost 4 pounds the following week. I didn't put any back on.
Then when the weight loss slowed way down again I tried eating more including carbs but it didn't change, not up or down.

I've switched up my exersize reutine with the help of my trainer and now take 2 days off some weeks depending on what I've done all week.
and I'm doing interval training on the treadmill instead of straight running.

Where do you go to get that Body Comp test?

I'm basing my goal on what I used to weigh at my best and on the body fat calculators that I found on line. I'm really trying to get to 22% bodyfat and a mid/normal BMI
I think that's about 135 for me but I'd be willing to find out for sure.

Next three weeks are going to be tough because my daughter and I will be going to Tijuana for her surgery and she's going to stay with me for a few days before we leave for liquid diet support and then stay with me after the surgery until she feels ready to go home.

I picked up some freelance work that will keep me busy for a few months so squeezing in a cruise right now is probably not going to happen. Maybe in a couple-three months.

Thanks for the encouragement and the advise.

Look up Bodpod or hydrostatic weighing or body composition tests in your area and hopefully you can find something close to you there.

Maybe where you have guestimated is exactly where you need to be, or maybe it will be different, either way just being able to make an educated decision about what a healthy goal looks like is a very good thing!!

Good luck girlie, to you and to your daughter with her surgery coming up!!

Donna you sound just like me! I'm on the last 20 lbs and working out 6 days a week. Running x3, biking x2 or 3, personal trainer, lo carb etc. Scale is barely moving when I feel like with this effort it should move faster. But that being said, I can feel myself getting in so much better shape, my cardio is really good, I'm seeing muscle definition and I feel great. Eating more does not work for me. But I'm getting ready for a ski trip so maybe that change will help. The cruise sounds like a good idea, I don't have anyone to bring tho. Maybe I'll bring Frisco, he could keep me on track too!
